Just would like to say this stuff is crazy, only been doing it for a few days but i already feel so much fitter.

I do jog/run intervals, 1 minute each:

1min warm up
1 min run
1 min jog
1 min run
1 min jog...and so on.

I've only managed to do around 15 mins, but i feel way more wiped out than doing a standard 30 min run. HR gets up to around 190 on sprints.

Its a good form of cardio as it increases something called EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), which is related to the number of cals you burn AFTER training.

One original study on this showed a 9x greater loss of body fat when compared to standard cardio. And i've heard it good for retaining muscle whilst cutting.

Anyone else tried it? I reckon all fatty powerlifters, like myself, should!

Huh? What? We have a cardio section? :104:

I used to do a bit of this when I was heavy into my running (before I started doing that much weights). It is a killer. I made good progress on my times with it, and it teaches you how to kick nicely.

Not a clue what it's comparitive benefits for fat loss are - I've used both HIIT and regular cardio (middle/long distance running) and I've always been a skinny bastard.

ive been doing a version of these on rower sprint around 260m, rest a minute repeat. better stimulates what it feels like to lifting heavy, plus its quicker and i dont get shin splints from the running

Ive got a mate who's recently qualified as a personal trainer and recommended finding a fairly comfortable level which would put you on 50/60 reps per minute on the machine then work on intervals like so:
40 seconds all out effort- upto 100 or so reps per minute
20 seconds recovery- back to the base line 50/60 reps per minute.

Try and complete 8-10 cycles first time and build from there..............
Its hard!
