I'm going to start downloading tracks for a 'classic' pumping lifting CD. What songs would youse recommend to get fired up and in the right mood for setting new 1RM's or what do you listen to while lifting?

Manson rocks. Slipknot and Soulfly are good for angry music. You can't go far wrong with Metallica either.

gotta agree with SOG's suggestions. Metallica and Manson are good, havent heard any soulfly. I find some Limp Bizkit tracks are good too. To be honest thats the only rock music I listen to that I would consider stimulating for training.

Soulfly is loud and angry, although not especially comprehensible.
Mudvayne and the Murderdolls are both good alternatives to Slipknot. Dope are quite Mansonesque, if you like that kinda thing. Limp Bizkit's first album (Three Dollar Bill) is awesome for lifting to (check out the penultimate track for 1RM attempts) but their other albums aren't good for much, lifting or otherwise.
I also forgot to mention Machinehead. They're good.
Metallica,Manson both rock. Not sure about Limp Bizkit. For some diffent try Rob Zombie and Rammstein most of there tracks are in Germany but you get the jist of them.

These bands are not really what I'd go in for, but I'll download a few of their songs and see what I think.

Rob Zombie and Black Label Society make up the bulk of my training music.

Mainly R'n'B :D from the fifties though, 50's-70's Jamaican music and 80's-mid 90's Hip-hop, but no one else seems to like it :022: so I'm making a middle of the road CD when I'm training with other folk.

What about 'Killing in the name of" just for the end bit!
It's gotta be Rage Against The Machine all the way (my all time fave band). The louder you play it, the better it seems to sound ;)
Limp Biskit- break stuff is also good!
i like system of a down, some hardcore rap, some dizzee rascal, some DMX and justin timberlake

RATM are still a bit hippaty-hoppy for my liking - Some of their stuff is good musicaly then that squeaky bloke sings and it all goes to pot
Still better than a lot of the crap around today though

I have plenty of hip hop in my collection but for working out it has to be metal!
The Rocky Soundtrack has GOT to be on the cd somewhere!
