Are there any health risk with this kind of consumption apart from becoming, sexy/strong and dangerous?

I know milk gets a bad rap rep breath, acne, flem but tbh i think thats all myth as i dont have any of those (i hope) all i can see is a good cheap and effective source of energy/fuids/protein etc, but 17 pints is a lot?

Robert

TBH mate there probably is, hopefully boxer will comment over the coming week or so.

Yes there are health risks. A pint of semi-skimmed milk contains around 5.7 grams of saturated fat. 19 pints therefore contains around 108 grams of saturated fat.

yup, and 5000kcals and nearly 400g of protien

How much milk do you drink everyday? Is it semi-skimmed or full-fat?

I would also take extra care of your teeth mate...that's 570 grams of sugar!

Robert
29-04-2005, 09:40
yup, my dental hygine is probably the best in the country. i take my toothbrushes everywhere and brush after every meal and randomly thoughout the day.

Robert

mark i hav edrunk 15-21 pints everday this week. putting on about 1-4lb a day ATM.

Brushing more than twice per day can be detremental to your tooth enamel.

That is way too much. Why do you need that amount? Also, eating that amound of saturated fat is dangerous.

Robert
29-04-2005, 13:17
dangerous as benching with no spotter outside of a rack, no i didn't think so. dangerous as climbing up 130ft trees with a chainsaw for a living, no i didn't think so. dangerous as crossing thre road when d out oyur face, no i didn't think so.

don't try hold me back with your mediocre bullcrap.

why ask why i am doing it? its pretty obvious. PROGRESS. i put 20lb on in 8 days and not a scrap of fat.... photos to prove it are in my journal.

also, i am skint. 20 pints of milk costs £5. there is no way you can get me 400g of protien and 5000kcals out of £5 with real food or even supps.

and joel. thats crap. everytime i go to the dentist (abotu once every 4 years or so) i get told what a shining example my teeth are. pun intended.

Just what I've been told by my dentist. I only brush once a day and I've never had a single filling.

Robert
29-04-2005, 13:39
i will admit i have a few fillings, but they are just where punches have smashed up my teeth. the ones that haven't been bust up are all cosher

That must be why we have so many healthy folk around these days since the low-fat brigade begun.

On topic, re Knightys comments on teeth, are natural sugars kinder, than say consuming the equivelent sugar from wine gums, also are sugars in drinks less damaging as they spend less time in the mouth being chewed?

Knighty
29-04-2005, 19:54
Not too sure mate...but if there's a constant stream of sugar going through the teeth it can't be too good for them

I don't think you could find anyone who would disagree that 700g of saturated fat per week is a danger to health.

Milk may be inexpensive to consume in large quantities, but quantity is not the only important factor in a diet. Quality is also important. So is variety.

This is fascinating i would love to hear more about this. I know Paul Anderson used to drink ALOT of milk, he did this for many years and did get ill, i am not connecting this with the milk, however he did also become quite big and strong!

I remember reading in the Sun, that a man in his early twenties, died from a heart attack after drinking 10 pints of full fat milk, a day, over a 5 year period.

The thing to remember though, is that the body isn't stupid. If it doesn't like you drinking that much milk it will start to make you lactose intolerent, the first symptons are feeling full of snot.

deep breath.......................ahhh nah it's too obvious

It's not like Rob plans on drinking 20 pints a day for the rest of his life, and people put far worse things through their bodies in this game

GREAT point by PK - milk scores low on the glycemic index, however it scores high in the insulin index...this would surely with your insulin levels, the same way as someone eating 100's of grams a day of sweets

Robert
30-04-2005, 14:46
thats good

insulin is a storage hormone = more muscle.

It's your call mate, but from personal experience I know people often take their health for granted and then curse themselves when they're not in good health, especially when it could have been prevented

I couldn't agree more. People do tend to take their health for granted. Only when it is compromised do we realise how valuable it is.

well phyto-oestrogens generally are much much weaker than oestrogens in say meat or dairy.

But to be honest, i don't think these things make much difference, though i would of course hope that animal products would have loads more estrogenic effects on men :D just always wanted to say that because so many dudes respond to any soya thread with same comment after reading a t-mag article about the issue ;)

it is researched, just place oestrogen and meat or dairy in www.pubmed.com and you see studies on how the oestrogen in meat and dairy products have been linked to all kinds of cancers etc :)

There are probably studies that have "linked" eating fruit and vegetables to various illnesses too. For example, it has been suggested that the pesticides found in those foods may contribute to Parkinson's disease. There are scares over all sorts of foods all the time. The most sensible approach is to eat foods in moderation rather than eat loads of one type of food.

Nonfat also better as combining the carbs and fats of milk together is an invitation for adipose tissue storage.
