Damn im tired! I went out to a comedy club and got back late, about 1:30 due to diversions around Birmingham and although i didnt drink i feel really beat, I drank that minging J20 all night that hurt my teeth and the smokey environment is murder on non smokers which bring me to my poll, Ive kept it as a simple yes or no, but if you guys can think of anything to add let me know.

I hate everything about smoking
The Smell - the yellow stained fingers of the people that enjoy it - the fact that it is deadly & a Society which thinks it can dictate to us which vitamins we are allowed to take on health grounds has the cheek to permit it at all !
I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that Smokers have absolutely NO CONCEPT WHATSOEVER of how annoying their addiction is to non-smokers
They have us gasping for air, saving up tar for lung cancer , then smelling of their smoke for the rest of the day , And if we DARE to complain they act as if we are interfering with THEIR privacy ! Ban them all !!!

I'm an ex-smoker, finally beat the evil weed 3 years ago. Its one of my biggest regrets that I ever started. Even watching my grandfather die of lung cancer didnt put me off straight away.
Its probably one of the most addictive substances around and I still find it difficult to deal with. Because of this I find it very difficult to go to clubs/pubs etc without putting myself at risk-its that bad.
I vote to ban it even though that makes me the worst kind of hypocrite!

At least your honest, smoking is the best habit i never took up
People who smoke with no consideration of others are scum.
Havn't smoked for almost a year now- hate the smell

the worst part of my job is the smokey environment. at the end of my shift my eyes are bloodshot and my hair stinks. i'm always wondering how so much passive smoking is adversely affecting my health.
would definitely support a smoking ban but not sure how that would affect my earnings.

i dont think it would make much difference to be honest, if its an all out ban

would less people come in? would they stay as long?
i'm not paid an hourly rate. less customers = less money for me.

there might be a bit of a lull to begin with but after a while i dont think it would get back to normal, I mean where else are those nice men gonna go?

yeah possibly, but i reckon if they wanted to do that they would already
I won't even stay in the same room as anyone smoking now and I make it clear that they are the reason I am leaving the room.
ban it!
sometimes after a night out the next day i wonder if its the over consumption of alcohol or being exposed to so much smoke that makes me feel physically sick, i can taste it in my mouth and the back of my throat all the next day even if i havent been anywhere near people that were smoking.
It doesn't seem to matter where you go in a pub/club the evil smoke WILL get you!

Its the smoke cheggers not the booze, i dont drink and i always feel rough after clubs etc
Smoking should be illegal full stop. We are protected from rec drugs, so we should be protected from this too. All that "what you do in your own home" is fcuking codswallop. Do you think its ok to get smacked up to your tits in your own home? No.
Killing yourself IS illegal. Endangering the health of others IS illegal. But smoking isn't, slight anomoly there imo.

$$$$$$$ - You know that Robert.
I would welcome a ban in smoking because the only time I light up is when I'm drunk. If I had to go outside or something, I wouldn't bother.

I am not sure whether smoking should be made entirely illegal, but I think it should be banned in any public place immediately.
There are very sensible reasons for enforcing this ban. (I will post some comments on these later on this evening, hopefully!)

They banned smoking in bars/clubs/restaurants in New York about a year and half ago. At first, some of the bars did lost money and customers, but now it doesn't seem to matter. I'm not a smoker (other than the occasional cigar in the confines of my own apartment), so I was obviously in favor of the ban and now I find that most of my smoker-barfly friends actually feel the same way.
Bottom line: if you smoke, odds are that you'll die from it. No one should be so stupid.
I used to smoke as Blacklab did..
I've given up for 5 years now and don't find it a problem, never tempted and I do regret starting in the first place.
Only a couple of my friends smoke now so I'm not exposed to it as much as I used to be..
Nothing worse than a nice female sparking up and smoking, total turn off...
