This is going to be my journal for the next 20 days, during which time I will have gained 20lbs of mass. I will then revert back to my original journal (Killing in the name of. vII).

I am going to put everything in this journal, from sleep time and quality, to ml of water consumed, to mood and health!

I did start thsi about a week ago, but undid all my good (and more) work several days into to project due to beer and not eating(literally) and not training. And a lot more beer. Now I am back at uni and so can't get leatherd each night, so I am starting again.

Day 1.
Weight @ 0600: 78kg - 171.6lb*

*I nearly choked to death on my own tonuge when I read that.

Sleep previous night: 6hrs 30mins - 7/10

Eats:
0600. x2 coffee. 500ml water. x2 meat sandwiches. Green shit.
0800. x2 pints milk + meat sandwiches. Greens.
1100. x2 egg sandwiches. 650ml water. More green shit.
1400. 100g mixed nuts and rasins. 1ltr water.
1500. Some leaves/shoots of various plants. Beech, lime, hawthorn and nettle amongst others. About 200g in all.
PreWO. 50g dextrose in 400ml water. Yuk.
*Train.*
PWO. 100g dextrose + 40g whey + vit C & others + 6g creatine + 500ml water. Yuk.
1900. 40g dextrose + 40g whey + 6g creatine + 500ml water.
2000. Huge roast dinner. Lots of meat and potatos and broccoli. 1ltr water.
2100. 100g mixed nuts and rasins. 500ml water.
2200. 400g cottage cheese.

A poor start to the challenge, but that was mainly down to yesterday night, and the preceeding week. Not too bad mind. Lots of good food in.

EDIT: The dextrose nearly made me puke. Also, whey in water has never been my strong point. I am off to sainsburys to get loads of Powerade and shit. I will have to drink that instead of (or add to) the dextrose. Its so sweet.

Training: [Everything on a 2" bar]
Bench - 50x3x10 70x6x3 50x3x10
Row - 50x2x20 70x2x8

Just getting back into it.

Hi Rob, hows your handmade-wooden-stuff-training-outside-getting-back-to-nature thing going?

Good luck in your 20lbs in 20 days march mate. Eat like a fat kid in candyland and youll get there.

Robert

Training is going well mate, thank you. Just getting back into it over these sessions. Really enjoying previously shunned exercises too. (Front squats and benching).

Day 2.
Weight @ 1400: 79kg - 173.8lb +1kg

Sleep previous night: 6hrs 10mins - 8/10

Eats:
1. Coffee x2. Coisant(sp?) & jam x4. Water.
2. Egg sandwiches & dandilion leaves & nettle leaves & milk.
3. Water.
4. Tuna sandwiches & lime/beech/hawthorn leaves/shoots & milk.
5. Powerade.
TRAIN.
6. Powerade & whey. Yuk.
7. Whey and milk. Yuk.
8. 200g mixed nuts and rasins. Water.
9. Steak & kidney pie. Water.
10. Curry & rice. Water.
11. Potato & 200g cottage cheese. Water.
12. Milk. Water.

Lots of good food and some less than usual veggies. I love spring as all the shoots and leaves from edible plants are coming through. Got some funny looks putting nettles and dandilion leaves in my sandwiches, and when I was eating leaves off the branch of a tree in the car, but its well worth it. Tons of minerals. I total that up to be about 4500kcals and at least 250g protien. A good days eats with everything at the right time.

Training: [Everything on a 2" bar]
Bench - 30x1x20 50x2x15 70x6x5 50x2x10
Row - 50x6x10

Training sucks a bit: Been told today by Dr's that I cannot squat/deadlift as I cannot risk too much IAP in the run up to my op. I am still benching. I am staying on help's bench routine but will add in another day of close grip on fridays at his suggestion. Also going to be rowing on separate days now. 6x5 is good progress though, 10x5 is not far now. Which means using 90kg is now on the horizon.

Mon & Wed: Bench
Tue & Thur: Row
Fri: Close grip

Love it, saying yuk to whey in milk as you munch nettles, nutter, are you benching with an arch? looks like you and i are in the same boat at the moment...

Robert
20-04-2005, 15:23
Nettles rule. Urtica just has to be rolled in the hands to remove the fine hairs that would otherwise sting your mouth. Hurts your hands, but it's only a few weeks of the year... and it doesn't half make you look hard.

No arch. No leg drive. No lat squeeze. No IAP. Just raw triceps and shoulder power. It's a case of lay back an push.

Also, all supps are offically gay. Whey stinks, makes you puke and tastes like crap. Creatine bloats me for hours. CLO makes me have fishy burps. Dextrose... we wont even go there.

After thsi 20 days is up its back to real food for me.

Robert
20-04-2005, 15:24
Helpful hint: If you are about to puke, eat chewing gum.

Narc
20-04-2005, 15:29
You're using the wrong whey, other than that agreed, also good benching then

Robert
20-04-2005, 17:00
Thanks, bud.

Some complications in my 20lbs in 20days plan:

1. Went for 2nd radiology scan/opinion.
2. It actually IS a hernia.
3. Don't need surgery for some gay reason.
4. Has to heal naturally. Is usually 6-18 months. The more I **** about with it, the longer it will take. Upper body stuff is fine and so is very light lowerbody/core stuff.

Don't worry though sports fans, it will still be done. I am however staying well away form lowerbody stuff for 2-3 months. Some light front squats and RDL's once per week is all I will be doing.

When you say - it will still be done - do you mean, that regardless of what the doctor says your still going to have the op, or do you mean that youre going to do lower body exercises sfter 2-3 months.

It will be done:

-20lbs of mass in 20days.
-140kg bench by September, or I owe help £20.
-Some super-light squatting as and when.

hypothetical question, could roids fix a hernia quicker?

Will start a new thread if you dont want this here

Robert
20-04-2005, 18:53
Keep it here. I have come to the conclusion that no matter how often I change journals (NOT ROUTINES HATERS) they still invariably get beyond 10 pages very fast. I have some strange psychological adversion to long journals, but hey, who's counting (except me)? I am also stopping changing journals to defend myself against unfair and unjust statements about how often I change routines!!!1!11 Everyone thinks each new journal is a new routine. ****s. Thunder****s. All of you.

On topic: Yes mate, AAS will make me heal faster, like the Wolverine. I must say its very tempting. But no. I will stay natural as long as I can get away with it.

Jon
20-04-2005, 21:11
If nothing else. I admire your enthusiasm and optimism :038:

If you get that 140kg bench (raw) then i'll give you £20.

i' m in thick mode. its night time and am tired, low on food. are you doing for e.g. 70kg for 6 reps for 5 sets?

also bench 140kg - its definitely do-able. your squat went up very fast in a fairly short period of time, hopefully you can do the same thing with the bench.

Helps bench routine is this:

Pick a weight.

Do 6x3.

then make that 9-10x3-5 over the coming weeks. then do one de-load/reps session. Then up the weight by 10-20kg and start again.

For me it went:

Get injured, wait two months.
-First session in 2 months: 70x5x2
-70x6x3
-70x10x3
-70x7x4
-70x10x4
Week off getting pissed.
-Then come back with: 70x6x3
-70x6x5
Tomorrow I hope for 70x8x5.

It is tweaked slightly now that I only do upper body shit.

Robert
22-04-2005, 11:03
DAY 3.

Weight: 81kg 178lbs +3kg

Weight is coming back nicely. At a rate of 2lbs a day so far. Keep this up and I could be 40lbs in 20 day!!!!!!!111!!1

Eats:
1. Coffee.
2. Coffee. 100g oats & 50g whey in 600ml milk. Water.
3. Powerade & Train.
4. Powerade & 17g creatine.
5. Salmon & potato. Water.
6. Coffee & half a mars bar.
7. 200g cottage cheese. Water.
7. Salmon & bread. Water.
8. Macoroni cheese & milk. Water.
9. 200g cottage cheese. Water.
10. Tuna sandwiches & milk.
11. Water.
12. Milk.

Training:
Bench - 30x1x20 50x1x15 70x6x5 70x1x4 70x1x3 70x1x5 70x1x7 50x3x12

You wanna know why, Freddy? It's 'cos I'm the ****ing shizzle, and your not. The only reason I got 2 sets with not 5 reps is becuase the first time my brother came scarily close to hitting me with the tractor mower (I benched in the garden today as its so nice) and the 2nd time I set up badly and got horrible lat pinch. Anyways, I got in a steaming bodybuilder killer rage on the last set and got those ****ing reps back! 70x10x5 is conquered. Next session is volume de-load, then its on with 80-90kg. Freddy, your getting owned, son.

Going to buy some chains. Not for accomodating resistance, but istead of 5kg plates. No where seems to sell 5kg plates that aren't stupid prices or have to have a minimum order of 4 or more (who the **** wants 4x5kg plates???!!!/1)

Anways, I am pumped up to ****. Back/calves/arms tomorrow.

Painthriller on FI (and to an extent, Rouge) have massive benches and do shit loads of repping out after their heavy sets. Painthriller nearly ourbenches Rouge and is about 30kg BW lighter.

Doh. Even so, Anthony (PT) has RAW benched 405 and hit 11-12 reps with 320 and his BMI is prolly ahlf what Rouge's is.

Not updated for a few days, been very very busy with uni work.

Also, skint. So no chains or new plates means have to stick with 70kg for a weeks or so. Hence yesterdays bench session:

Thick bar shit obviously:
Bench - 50x2x10 70x5x6 50x3x10
