I DON'T HAVE A HERNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!1!!111

I have something up with my femoral artery. Apparently, under the immense* IAP one of the valves has collapsed.

The upshot is this:

1. No hernia. YAY!
2. No hernia. YAY!
3. Simplyeasypeasy surgery.
4. I can train as hard as I like from today to evermore 'cos I have tons of valves that work perfectly further up.

Right, enough of this, I am off to squat.

*immense my arse.

You've only been out of training for a while... How much mass have you lost?

Robert

I weigh 184lb today. On feb 15th according to my home journal (written) I was 217lbs. I have somehow managed to lose 33lbs in about 5 weeks. This has been down to lots and lots of drinking, late nights, no nights (as in not sleeping), not eating more than 1-2000kcals a day and being almost exclusively sedentary.

My advice would be not to do it.

Rob is going to be using a weight that is significantly lower than his real 1RM.

Maybe if you spend a year or so preparing for it. You have to be able to survive and enormous workload for you not to injure yourself.

Robert

Realisticly, you don't need a year.

Just start the base mesocycle with about 75% your real 1RM and keep repeating that mesocycle adding 5kg or so to your Smolov 1RM for the calculations in each consecutive round. If like me you are a sub 220kg squatter, you should be ready to use your real 1RM for the Smolov calculations after about 4 months (12 weeks, or 4 repeats of the base mesocycle). By which time you will be stronger anyways. But more importantly, will have squatted 4xWeek for 12 weeks straight.

but if you are a sub 220kg squatter, you will probably make same, or perhaps even better with much less riskier routine.

Just worked out what happened - I posted a reply to this in your journal.
