Ok not an injury but certainly a potential health risk!!!

Today i was checked out as recommended by my optition, and my blood pressur eis high! I am only 27 nearly 28 so this is of concern as i dont want to kill my self by the time im 50 so i was thinking about ways to lower it.....

First of all its time to start doing some cardio and a few more reps so that i break into a sweat a bit when training, i am about 210lbs atm, i would be happy at 200 and probably look pretty lean too so thats not a bad idea as it is summer and i am a fat man,

secondly and equally important id better make some changes to my diet, i am thinking instead of pot noodles and twiglets for snax a few weetabix could be a good idea and i should eat more fruit, no more egg yolks for me either as my cholesterol is due to be tested and i suspect it is a little bit high. any other ideas? i have to go back in 2 weeks so i want results quick.

also i know its not critical now but if i ignor the problem it is only going to get worse

Yes it is Ben. You just found this:

http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/hbp/prevent/prevent.htm

diet wise the essence is:

"Study results indicated that elevated blood pressures were reduced by an eating plan that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, and lowfat dairy foods and is low in saturated fat, total fat, and cholesterol. The DASH eating plan includes whole grains, poultry, fish, and nuts and has reduced amounts of fats, red meats, sweets, and sugared beverages."

cheers tricky, i am cutting processed food like pot noodles and cereal bars, crisps and twiglets etc that should lower the salt intake to minimum as i never add it and pizzas are off the menu so are egg yolks

Also one of my cardio stratagey includes taking the hounds for longer and more intense walks more often so the dogs will hopefully get fitter and leaner too

if thats what it is there is nothing to worry about

the egg yolk thing, dont worry about, cholesterol levels are not influenced by cholesterol intake
