I am going to give up caffinated drinks as from today due to what happened yesterday, basically i drank 4 coffees throughout the morning i normally only have that many a week, i got ultra high and hyper on them and then the come down was massive i spent all of last night feeling depressed! Is this normal for caffien to have this effect? Anyone else suffer similar problems?

Sounds like we are in the same boat there then.

I drink loads of coffee and diet coke, probably used to the caffeine by now.
Its my only drug to be fair, I rarely drink and don't smoke. You have to have some enjoyment in life, everything in moderation.
I was thinking about trying that new half caffeine coffee. What effects does caffeine have on the body apart from making you hyper?
What do you drink throughout the day and in the evening then?

You build a tolerance to caffiene quite fast. If you drink loads of coffee (like I do), then it doesn't have any effect.
Likewise. I have a coffee before bed and I sleep like a brick in water.

DMPM, you get a tolerance to the effects of caffeine, but try stopping now and chances are that you would suffer from headaches, low energy, depression etc withdrawal symptoms. Caffeine is a strong drug and yes, you can get "used" to it, but what that means is that you need to get your fix just to be normal.
I don't drink coffee or even tea, just don't really like it, and if i drive a long distance or need an extra boost, just simple cola or red bull will get me buzzing for 6-12 hours!
Its a good boost though if you have 6 heavy sets of squatting to do :)

The withdrawal effects of caffiene aren't very serious, and I've done it numerous times. A little asprin deals with the headaches which typically only last a day.
I do need my fix each day, no doubt, but I find my performance at work and in the gym is increased with a regular intake.
