OK, so during the creation of this wizardry/masterpiece I developed Tourettes syndrome and got myself a nice shade of orange and smell like weather proof wood sealant..... BUT:
I HAVE, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, THE MOST HARDASS, BAD-BOY, MOFO BENCH IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE.
5 reasons to build you own bench:
1. It cost £7.49.
2. It took 3hrs 12mins to design* and manufacture.
3. It can take ME AND MY BORTHER STOMPING ON IT AND JUMPING ON IT!!!!11!11 - Its strong.
4. It was actually fun to do.
*5. I had no design I just winged it. And it still rules.

deserved respect for building your own shit.
I built one with my dad when i was just a wee shitter. From solid logs, it included the stands for barbell as well, just two thick ****ing logs, with kind of like a:

sawn into it, it was great.
That was the original plan. Logs are a plenty at the Oates residence. But my chainsaw has gone walkies and I liked the idea of buying and cutting wood.
so you're gonna make some bar stands as well? :confused:

Until my squat stands arrive, I will have rely on sheer bloody mindedness to get in position for benching. When they do arrive, I will use them.

Rob if you have lots of time on your hands i have a building challenge that should occupy you for some time!
Your challenge is to make an adjustable bench from wood!!! This doesn't mean stacking bricks up under your original bench though!

I want to build one as my york bench sucks a whole lot of ass, I can't even fit my shoulders on it, its so narrow. And I won't pay out for a decent one cos im off to uni in a few months.
