Whenever I have had to lose Bodyfat I have always found High Protein / low everything else seems to work - and anything Involving anything other than low carbs , quite frankly does nothing for me !

When I originally started training - I read lots of musclemag articles by Will Brink - and he was an advocate of High protein / moderate fat /low carb diets - so I followed his advice - only the "moderate fat" bit seemed to go over my head and ended up basically living on Protein and very little else

I lost so much bodyfat in 4-6 months it was amazing ! I went for 19 blubbery stone to 13.5 lean stone - although my I must have a dense frame - as at that weight & a height of 5'11" I was stocky but had no real muscle - I felt was "skin & bone"

Anyway - then I turned to bodybuilding for muscle rather than weight loss & put on several stones of muscle ( again low carb but LOADS of protein - 800g pd ! ) and I got to about 17 lean stones ,although steroids were involved at this point
Anyway - I later turned to Strongman , and began eating everything in sight to get to 20st - and that brings us to today 22st 7 lb

So ....
I want to Diet down to my former 17 st of muscle

I am just wondering if anyone else is as keen on high protein / low carb as me ? as I see lots of people think high protein diets are the work of the Devil & couldn't possibly work - Well I KNOW they can for me ! but If anyone else has used this method and can offer any tips for refinement - or even put forward a decent case as to why I should use moderate carbs I'd be interested to hear

The only case I could put for moderate carbs is that it'll work, but not as well!

When I'm dieting, I have two slices of toast in the morning, milk with tea etc and occasionally some carbs with an evening meal (after training anyway), but that's all.

I used this approach to drop over 30 pounds in 6 weeks, while getting stronger....so I like it too!
