View Full Version : protein intake?
i have heard and read lots of different info on this subject
anything from 0.75g per lb b/w up 2g per lb of b/w!
what do you guys think?
i try and do about 1g per pound.
Lot's, frequently, i guess i probably get about 1.5 - 2g per lb
As much as possible. It is very useful stuff. :045:
I just eat a protein source every 3 hours...it could be 20g, I could happen to consume 50g
Eat food, not numbers!

speaking of protein, i know i am walking on thin ice here because the protein issue is one of the solid dogmas of the bodybuilding world, but have you guys ever really tried the difference in your strength levels, or muscle gains/maintenance on different levels of protein intake?
I can only speak from personal experience but i see very little, in fact i don't see any difference, on periods when my protein intake is 130 or 230 grams/day. So i'm thinking is it really worth all the fuss and extra expense?
My mate who is into powerlifting went from 250grams of protein a day to about 60-80 grams/day and he is just getting stronger, lol!
Gains: 3500kcals, 200g protien.
Best gains: 5-7000kcals, 4-500g protien.
