View Full Version : So I'm thinking..
1.
Leg press - 3x50
Curl - 5x20
Pushdown - 5x20
2.
Plate pinch - 10 or so singles.
Gripper work - whatever.
Incline treadmill - 45mins or so.
Repeat: Mon-Sat, Sun off.
I think leg presses would put too much pressure on the area mate and I would definately aim on the side of caution
If my experiences in the past with injury teaches anybody that injury periods are delicate times which should be treated with great respect, then at least I know I haven't wasted months of my life...just let nature take its course mate and recover as fast as you can
Don't make the same mistake as me and F*ck with injury...Please, don't let my bad experiences go in vain by making yourself worse off
These times are tough, and we're here to support you on your recovery pal

I'd be very cautious of doing any training with an abdominal injury, its practically impossible to do anything without tensing the abs

If it is a hernia and requires operation, your surgeon will tell you to lay off any heavy lifting or straining for at least 4-6wks after the op.
Dont risk it. Theres being hardcore and then theres being stupid. Your health should come before your strength gains.

Its definitely a hernia.
Doc said completely lay off any heavy lifting until 6 months after surgery, whenever that is. (Going private cos NHS waiting list is nearly 2 years).
However, he is a serious lifter himself and said that stayign active is important. Walking and such like. I asked him about arm stuff only and he said in general no, but of you genuinely feel up to it then its your choice. So we'll see in a few weeks.
Knighty, Thanks mate. I am going to scrap that [above]. Just pissing about with argos grippers today.
Sorry to hear about your problems Rob.Hop your back tearing them weights up as soon as.

I've really enjoyed reading about your progress Rob. Good luck with the recovery. I'm sure you'll be back better than ever!
OK so I have found the two exercises that are going to keep me sane for the next 6 weeks or so:
1. No arch 1 arm legs up Db floor press.
2. Hammer curls, seated.
Rockin'. Did 3x20 on each today.

Cool! Nothing will hold you back Rob your a sweaty beast!
Damn, there really aren't many exercises that don't use your abs are there. Bad news mate; best of luck with it. Again, I second not coming back too early - did that myself with some injuries in the past and it just isn't worth it with recurrences and niggling weakness. Chin up pal.
