View Full Version : Shut Up And Squat!!

Time for a t-shirt review, first heres the technical bumph

100% cotton 160 gsm
Shoulder to shoulder taping (you can see this if you turn it inside out,
really helps keep the shape of the shirt)
Twin stitching on hem and sleeves
Tubular body for shape retention
2.3cm knit collar
Front cover seaming on collar

tshirt is cool, every time i wear it in the gym people try to read it, makes u look hard to when u are sat in a coffee shop.

It looks and feels like a shop bought shirt, cant fault it

I think for 12 quid you cant beat it, makes you individual and shows your love of the iron, not that anyone with the same interests would understand.

For more info check out this link http://www.iron-city.net/showthread.php?t=464

I'm pleased I have this shirt as I now have 3 tops for my weightlifting indentity.

Is the shirt a big hit with the ladies? ;)

Fred
10-02-2005, 14:30
It would be if I was wearing it :D

PikeKing
10-02-2005, 15:43
replace the word hit with tit

and change it the original sentence to read: if fred wore the t-shirt he would still be a big tit

ap
10-02-2005, 23:39
Yeah, I'll second what Pikeking says - the t-shirts are ****ing excellent! I looked just like Ronnie Coleman in mine ;) , and like Pike says, the t-shirts really show a true love for the iron.

Yep a hot blonde asked me if i was a pro bber the other day then her and her fit mates came round for an orgy thanx to that t-shirt. I filmed the orgy and sold it as a porno for £100 grand.

I can attest to the magical qualities of these t-shirts, I wouldn't have managed a new squat PB without it and a group of schoolgirls thought it was hilarious because it said "SHUT UP". I even had someone in the gym asking where he could buy one.

what about -

Back "Bodybuilders fear me
or "weightlifters annoy me"
or both
maybe with a decent graphic of a lift?

I've dug out some old copies of Ironman, I'm going to get designing some graphics. Now my ebay direct debit has been set up I can open an eBay shop which is much easier and cheaper to run than the auctions.

Thanks Rogue, I have refunded you some money so you have only £10 for the shirt like the rest of the Iron-City members.

This offer is now closed, squat shirts in future are now £12.99, this is to cover the cost of the back print.

Thanks to all who bought one.

bunnyluva
26-02-2005, 21:50
Bit of a shaky start due to supplier problems on the vehicle front, i've also had a design copied/stolen. T shirts will hopefully take off now I am able to apply for an ebay shop.

I think a lot of people may presume i'm using the printer/transfer paper you can buy, rather than the proper heat pressed vinyl.

Once the eBay shop opens properly i'm sure sales will increase and i'll add more gym wear designs and tank tops etc.

Phil

Rogue_zero
27-02-2005, 07:40
what design did they steal?

I designed a logo for a company to go on their van and stupidily emailed them the pic so they could give me some feedback. Heard nothing back, then two months later saw another local sign shop applying my design to the van.

In future designs are printed, shown to the cutomer, if the customer want to keep the pic then I will ask for a deposit to cover the design fee.

Phil

Fred
27-02-2005, 10:36
or you could watermark the pics with your logo?

BengDogg
27-02-2005, 12:27
Good idea cos then you would have a good stnce for a court case, i think you should do both ideas

Fred
27-02-2005, 12:39
also, i think you should pour paint stripper over their van

Rogue_zero
27-02-2005, 12:51
wouldnt the time stamp on the email be proof that you sent it to them before they had it made up. Also, Im sure that with a bit of pressure on the sign makers for producing a copyrighted design they would back you up that the company aproached them to have it made after you sent the design. Im no expert but the old way of proving the design was yours was to post it to yourself and get the postoffice to stamp the sort date on the letter. Ask the citizens advice as Im sure you got a case. Who was the company that you did the design for?

bunnyluva
28-02-2005, 15:43
I hold the copyright whether I add my logo or a copyright logo on the pic.

I have a jpg of the design on my pc with a creation date of 17th dec 04.

I will probably put it down to experience and move on, I've go a load to think about on the van graphics and Tshirt side of things to worry about it.

Phil

Man of Steel

Sitting on a bench in the gym watching all the curlers curl gave me a great idea for a t-shirt: Front "BENCH AND CURL", back "TRAIN FOR THE PUMP". I think it'd be a best seller.

bunnyluva
28-02-2005, 23:11
I think most people see gym slogans as corny, I will have to start contacting powerlifting groups etc and see if i can supply them. Local bands are also another potential target.

Phil

Rogue_zero
03-03-2005, 08:16
what about suppling work branded clothing to companies, company logo and employees name etc

bunnyluva
03-03-2005, 09:18
The costs are too great for large orders and the companies wouldn't pay up, screen printing is more suited to their needs.

The heatpress vinyl I use is more suited for low quantity orders, presonalised stuff even.

hey bunny, do you have the "Shut up and squat!" 9.99 shirt on XL? On the ebay page it only states till large, and that would be a very tight fit for me, lol!

I would prefer the one sided print, not the one with place bar here.

Would be ordering two t-shirts (one large, one XL), can i get a good iron-city discount? ;) I can pay it them straight to your bank account to take out the pay pal middle man as well.

More work in progress,

Drawing this on Sat morning, it's a bizarre thought that I can turn a hobby into work. Been to see another local business start up centre who are running a 'work from home on the net' pilot scheme.

Hoping to get some funding/training to open a bespoke clothing site aimed specifically at gym wear and perhaps small gym accessories, belts, gloves wraps, chalk etc etc.

Those last two designs rock BK! Any plans for a similar sort of thing for strength trainers? Like one of those guys with a few hundred kg on their back? Hope this takes off for you pal, seems awesome to make a living from your interests, I wish I could!

bunnyluva
02-04-2005, 14:23
Thanks 666, glad you like them, I'm still working on them but pretty confident they'll go on a T-shirt ok.

I'd do any design if i were confident it would sell a few shirts, bodybuilders and powerlifter and a nice little niche market when it come to clothing, not many places to get them and only a few designs. I plan on exploiting that to it's fullest :023:

When you say powerlifter, how about paul anderson

Also, he seems to have a dangerously low bodyfat, should eat more pies.

What i'm saying is that its a great drawing and design, but i don't think it captures the boards mood mate. Or perhaps it's just me, but i think many here are training for strength and power, or are powerbuilders as ap puts it.
