No, he's brand new to IC.
....not to mention if he told you, he'd probably have to kill you.
Thanks for the welcome Crystal - I have used in the past but I'm off cycle at the moment, hence the relatively light weights and higher reps. I am planning to go back on in 3-4 weeks, I am really looking forward to doing some heavy singles and possibly getting back into PB territory.
Any background? Know any of the lads here already? Goals?
Impressive numbers anyway.

I come from a bodybuilding background. Recently my focus has changed to powerlifting, as I get older I am starting to realise how much I dislike dieting. To be honest I am not convinced I'll ever get on stage again, but I certainly won't rule out the possibility of a powerlifting meet in the not so distant future.
I don't, but the forum looked pretty decent do I decided to start sharing my training on here.
Thanks for the positive feedback.
Good stuff, I wouldn't want to get murdereded
That's unlikely, given that the possession of AAS (for personal use) is perfectly legal in the UK.
some real nice numbers there!
Lollerskates.
You'd think God would deadlift more.
This session was just about getting in some volume, and it's worth noting that I pulled everything today beltless and without a stretch reflex. Wait until I am back 'on' and then you will see some God-like deadlift numbers from me.
Nice session; but low reps for a bodybuilder's high-rep phase?
What are your big 3 maxes?

Huge numbers there umm God!
How do you split your training up?
What's the BW like?
What's the diet like?
What's your history of the super supps?
Feel like divulging what you do (roughly) for a living? I'm intrigured.

Chest/back, shoulders/arms, legs, hitting everything once every 4-5days. So days off are taken as and when they are required rather than planned.
Currently around 125kg/275lbs fairly lean.
At the moment I am eating what I like for the best part but I do make an effort to consume 400-500grams of protein per day.
I usually run at least 1000mg of test (most often a UGL blend so test400 or similar), every now and then I come off for 4-5 weeks which acts like a 'cruise' because of how the esters taper off slowly. I alternate what I take with the test400, most recently I ran 1600mg test (4ml per week) and 500mg dual tren (2.5ml per week) and while using that I deadlifted 300kg for a set of 5. Tren seems to give me the best gains strength wise. For size, a good old fashioned test and deca cycle is my favourite.

300x5 that's mad!
300x5 that's mad!
There is much more like that to come. Pulling 272.5x5 beltless after squats is a sign of progress already, since my pull is very quad dominant.
Nice. I'll look forward to reading this journal, even if you do come across as a bit arrogant, but then you kinda have a right to be if you're pulling 300x5!!
Did you win any bb shows?

LA, unfortunately not, always really struggled with the conditioning element. I always gained muscle very easily, though. I am a meso-endo, being a pure meso would have been nice but unfortunately you can't change what you're born with.

Not my greatest session of bench, being off gear affects my pressing ability more than anything else. Combine that with a painful AC joint from yesterday's deads and you get a very average session. Everything else was good, and it's pleasing to see vascularity and some decent separation at circa 20 stone bodyweight.
So given what you described about your cycle, you basically never come off? Just blast and cruise?
Nice pressing, regardless.

Pretty much. The average of the half lives of the test esters in test400 is roughly 4 days based on the amounts of prop/cyp/enth so after 16 days I am pretty much down to natural amounts of testosterone anyway. It is techincally blast and cruise but I prefer doing it this way so tapering off and then starting over again with a large amount. I prefer test400 and blends in general actually, and never really saw the huge fuss with pharma grade stuff. The glass amps are a massive annoyance and I have found that pharma stuff stings a fair bit more because it is generally higher in benzyl alcohol content than the stuff you get from the UGLs.
Thanks. :)

Nice "average" pressing you git!
Your back exercise weights are a lot lower than I would expect given the strength, I assume you work hard on getting a good contraction etc?
How many BB contests have you entered? Ever played around with PL or SM comps given the strength
How long do the blasts/cycles last then mate? How long have you been doing this?
Nice Benching!! I'm in anticipation of what you'd call a good days benching.
I always gained muscle very easily, though. I am a meso-endo, being a pure meso would have been nice but unfortunately you can't change what you're born with.
I wouldn't buy too much into somatotyping unless you want to pigeon hole yourself into perceived limitation.

A chap on here once told me leg pressing was pointless, and you should squay more. Do you find you get much benefit out of them?
2 fairly intense work sets of squats was enough for me today. 17 total reps over 220kg in one session is good enough for now.
Leg press for me is purely to isolate my quads. My lower back fails before my quads on squats hence the need for extra quad work on the leg press. The back raises will improve my lower back strength so it no longer limits my squat.

nice deads & a lot of work :038:
Thanks mate. I am hoping the beltless work will benefit me. I trained abs today aswell, just forgot to log it. My lower back and core in general are fairly weak, and limit my squat and deadlift a fair bit so this is being addressed every session now.
P.s.... What's your diet like. Lots of weight gaining shakes and such?
3-4 clean meals per day, and 3-4 weight gainers per day. Usually 1 cheat meal per week. I eat carbs all through the day now and still stay relatively lean, I don't buy into the carb cutoff bullshite that gets spread around!
Welcome along by the way :)

I hope the bigger weights (excl. DL) were nothing to do with my earlier comment, as clearly I wouldn't/shouldn't give God advice!
Having small nuts doesn't concern me, i would honestly rather have a 200kg overhead and bench than balls anyway. I have had balls for 21 years, and have gotten slightly bored of them. There'd be less surface area to rub between my swegs if they got smaller anyway LOL!!
Have you had either 200kg overhead or got laid since this was posted?

HAHA - took some of you a while to figure it out. Timmy text me straight away, he knew just by the username that I chose :P
To those of you that welcome me back - cheers :)
Now you mention it, I've not had 200kilos overhead yet. I believe I could get it with some direct work on overhead stuff based off a strict military press double with 160kilos. After not push pressing for months and focusing purely on bench I was coerced into attempting 180kilos one evening in the gym and missed it right at lockout. Core weakness and lack of worthwhile leg drive and technique/practice me down here.
As for getting laid, when you work on the doors of the only 1000+ capacity nightclub in a chav town in South Devon, there is never a shortage of willing muscle-whores come drinking up time.:038:
Although severely disappointed over the lack of 200kg I for one am glad you rekindled your relationship with your testicles.

Oh, they're still reasonably small, I've not gone below a gram of test a week for 2 years. A few shots of HCG here and there keep them functioning, though.
I'll make a run for a 200kg push press this year sometime, it won't hurt I suppose. The strict pressing strength for it is there, but it will take a few weeks (or more) of specialisation.
haha welcome back Sam.
I'd say the attitude towards gear on here since you left has changed somewhat

Also what are your long term goals?

Cheers buddy.
I do think about it from time to time. Unfortunately to amount to anything but average in the lifting world I do need to use a fair amount of gear, especially when you consider that, before I touched a weight, I was 5'8'' and 10 stone. Gear use in BB, PL and strongman is very very heavy except for amongst the huge genetic freaks. A competitor at WSM told me he took only 500mg of test enanthate and 30mg winstrol per day leading up the contest. For comparison, I feel 'shut down' if I use anything less than a gram of test.
Long term goals -
1000kg powerlifting total with knee wraps.
I would also like to be 140kg lean eventually, and would probably need to be in order to total 1000.
All this gear seems to have mellowed you out somewhat.
I'm obviously not taking enough TREN!
Oh yep - I am most definitely more laid back on gear. Or possibly I train harder on (3hr sessions are not uncommon) so am simply too ****ed to be an arse hole outside the gym ha ha.

Easy peasy, Steve:
1/ Buy COC3
2/ Buy tren
3/ Inject tren x a lot
4/ Close COC3

Grip question for you. How did you train to close a COC3? and by that I mean only your training with grippers. Cheers
Thanks for the welcome back, Steve. Hope things have been well with you mate.
Can you close a #2?
If so, I would suggest doing the maximum number of reps you can with a #2 twice a week. When you can get 5 reps with a #2, buy a #2.5 and start doing a similar thing. So you may be able to do 1 or 2 reps with it then. Keep practicing and you will soon get 5. Then you should be able to shut a #3. If untrained, grippers repsond very very quickly, especially if you already have good overall strength base to start with.
50kg db flyes. geezuz wept.
Just incline db press mate. I don't like or do db flyes anymore, they aggrevate the pec delt tie in too much to be of any use. I quite like the fly machine for stretching the pecs, though.
Welcome back.
On the topic on grippers, what happened with your RB certification?
Did you not do it or did you not submit your details for the leaderboard?
Cheers. No idea mate. I had some cash related snags a while back so sold most of my grippers, though. I rep a #3 from time to time, I don't close huge grippers anymore though because I get bicep tendonitis if I do and that destroys my bench.
You returned the certification grippers I sent you to Thorsten Moser right or did you pass them on for someone else to certify?
Pretty sure I passed them on to Steve Gardener. What grippers were they?
Thanks for the welcome back, Steve. Hope things have been well with you mate.

No, can't close a 2 yet, but I'm very close. I can close a 1.5 for a couple of reps, so I'll use your suggestion on that. Cheers
Hmm, weird one. I can close a #2 for 5 reps, but couldn't manage a #3. Might have to start training these properly again.

I'd say 5 reps with a #2 is good enough for a #2.5, but not a #3. #3s are hard.
It does seem to be behind your other lifts - do you not train it as much? Or have you just got short arms?
How close were you to closing a #4, Sam?
Ian, it's down to a combination of poor leverage(can't change that, I just ensure it doesn't get worse by staying reasonably lean), poor flexibility(being addressed) and rediculously weak hams and glutes (addressing this with back raises but my lower back takes over even then and I've seen no glute growth yet my lower back has thickened up a huge amount).
I recover almost instantly so could pull eod in theory. DOMS/fatigue don't exist past the 3000mg barrier for me.

Get it done mate, then you can have your name down with Magnus Samuelsson!
Pretty sure I passed them on to Steve Gardener. What grippers were they?
Yeah, I thought he might of had them next but he isn't on the leaderboard neither.
They were the full set of RB certification grippers Thorsten Moser sent me from Germany. Before I was going to send them back I offered them to you so that you could certifty and we'd half the cost of sending them back to Germany assuming you weren't going to pass them on.
I sent them to you with some hand warmers thrown into the box.
Steve, 2mm. Not had a run at the #4 since I have been an enhanced athlete though ;)
Not much work being done for hammies and glutes recently? Considering the huge volume you do for upper body, could probably manage some RDLs or something somewhere instead?
I do back raises and leg curls every week. Never got on with SLDL or RDLs, I did them for years and my pull never increased so I decided they were a waste of adaptive energy.

Mental stuff Sammy!
I tried chins with fat gripz and couldn't do a single rep felt like my wrists were going to snap in half...
Hypers - assume you've tried pulling hips of the pads to work glutes/hammies more than back?
You've already acknowledged that back extensions aren't hitting your hams / glutes and ham curls aren't going to have any carryover to deadlifting, so maybe you want to think about something else that might hit them better; maybe some weighted glute bridges / hip thrusts? GHR? Lunges?

Matw,
i dont think your a pee-pee as much as some here BUT I've seen recent piccy wiccys and you don't have any separation at all. Big, strong lad no doubt but don't see your 130kg lean when your still 20%+ bodyfat, it's silly.
Other than that rock on, some good lifts and what not in this journal and congrats on not being dead yet.

And congrats on not being dead - is it bad taste to find that funny and sad at the same time?
Yes, I too want to see this supposed muscle separation and vascularity.
I did ask for pics, Sam! Get them up, dude!

That is some ****ing strong deadlifting.
Yeah, probably between 15 and 20% atm. I'm a few percent leaner than I was in that deadlift video, but, in my opinion, that vid does show some vascularity and separation.
And my haircuts are awesome. ;)

I presume there's just some confusion about separation vs definition.

Confusion? This is the same man that said he held more lbm than an IBFF pro, whilst natural! I think there's a bit of gyno brain going on.

I haven't yet managed to get a video showing back raises, sorry Will. I do them partner assisted though, which looks very gay but they work for the squat and dead. Happy to push press 160kg for a nice triple having not trained any sort of standing overhead this year. It was a very smooth triple aswell, there was a fourth in the tank, and quite possibly a fifth. 180kg will be going over my head soon, closely followed by 200kg if I actually decide to do a cycle of training for the push press, rather than just doing it when I feel my pec-delt tie ins need a rest from 200kg+ benching ;)

215 log I believe too
190, claimed weight was 205, but the organisers later admitted the weights were 15kg ovee. Loz confirmed this on sugden.
Push presses Dave. Clegg has done 180 which is huge. Behind the head jerks are not even a proper lift in my opinion.

He had a bash at a 200 log last week but couldn't lock it out.
Let't use standard oly bar push press for reference here.
Dave Meer has done 160kgx5, 180kgx2 and 190kgx1 on video.

Plus, I'm sure there are lots that don't feel the need to use forums etc that are capable of such feats. Don't let your head get too big, you're still a fairly average lifter (for the level you wish to get to).
And I'm terrible. So don't take this personally.

Having small nuts doesn't concern me, i would honestly rather have a 200kg overhead and bench than balls anyway. I have had balls for 21 years, and have gotten slightly bored of them. There'd be less surface area to rub between my swegs if they got smaller anyway LOL!!

Couldn't clean it :P so joint last I think. What a great start to the day!
2. Silver Dollar Deadlift. (from 18'')

No drops but was slow as f**k!
4. 170kg anvil for distance
Think I got about 50m. Middle of the field.
5. Block press medley 90,100,110,120

7th out of 8 overall.
NOTES

Being a 'good presser' yet not being able to clean worth f**k all cos of an injury nearly 2 years old is beyond frustrating. I couldn't even clean a 120 log while practicing my tech. I can't see myself ever fully recovering from the hip flexor tear I had to be perfectly honest.

Quit a maths degree at Plymouth uni (so not an actual university anyway, but still something) because he 'didn't have the money' and invested said money in his drub problem. Seems like he had (has?) great potential! Unfortunately, as I know only too well, that's no guarantee of anything. One of my favourite quotes from Calvin Coolidge:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
