Whilst browisng the unexpectedly gay-looking bench shirts, I happened accross that errector shirt you were wanting.

I am thinking of getting an: Inzer HPHD shirt? What does anyone reckon?

They're (obviously) on the Inzer site too.

Re. that shirt I think it'll crush you. You're not experienced enough for it and you'll never get it to touch. (if you can get it on!)

Robert, I thought shirts, etc. belonged to bondage fags?:043:

The Inzer site is the same price and probably a lot more safe too.

I don't. This is the most popular shirt on FI, even with very inexperinced lifters. A very experinced lifter told me that it is perfect for guys benching 100-140 and he used that exact same one when he benched less than 100!

Though I hear what you say and may exercies a bit of caution when buying.

I am thinking that I might buy it 1 size to big, for two reasons:
1. If its loose the bar will deffo touch.
2. I can grow into it and not have to buy a new one in 3 months.

they do
Maybe they do but I can't say that or ill get banned, remember.

Who said it'd be good?

On the other side of my argument, if you get the best shirt now there's not much room for improvement. It's like buying a R1 after passing your motorbike test, yeah it's cool, but you'll probably kill yourself! I'll be happy with my 'pizza bike' shirt to get used to the style :)

If you can't improve your bench without getting another shirt you might as well give up now. Of course it'll improve, i'll get stronger!

EDIT: I will be using shirted bench sparringly to get me used to heavy weight and for strong lockout, not for every bench session. I don't want something that is only going to give me 10lbs, I might just as well stick to 5 board otherwise.

You might as well. You do know shirts were originally invented to protect the shoulders right? So that's the difference.

Stop arguing. I am taking advice form someone who has achieved what I have for goals. For once.

Why do you need a shirt for this?

Robert

I don't neccesarily. But its something different so I am not using the same exercise for all 4 weeks of my program, and it means I can use full ROM to get used to heavy weight, not just a 5 board or lockouts/rack press.

Wont the suit be taking the strain of the extra weight as well as your body so supra maximal lifting will be minimal? :102:

Full ROM is not effective Rom, isnt that correct? ;)

It will take the strain for the first few inches, yes. But only a portion of that strain. If you can't lock it out RAW, you can't lock it out shirted.

On some exercises, yes.

he is a official dealer of inzer equipment, so i don't see any problem with order from his site.

You probably know what I'm going to say Rob but I'll say it anyway. Forget the shirt, IMO they give people a false sense of what they can do. If I were you I'd just concentrate on your RAW bench for a couple of years and then if you feel the need, you can buy one after that.

Strongly considering this option ATM. Its 60/40 in favour of staying totally RAW right now. Esp as my board press went so well today.

EDIT: Decision made. Staying RAW for time being.
