Was looking at your web page and noticed you bend six inch nails!

I was wondering how one would go about studying such an art?

Any tips on how or where to get started?

Ah yes the joys of nail bending, Its all in the wrists buddy! The best way to start is to get a dish cloth+ bolt croppers, go B+q and buy some length of thier 5mm steel rod and 6mm they come in meter lengths and are real cheap, about £1.50 each, now get the croppers and cut the steel & and wrap it in the dish cloth to protect your hands, i would start at about 8" 5mm to test the water, then i would reduce the length of the steel by a 1/4" untill you get to 6"5mm, now its time for the 6mm, you would do well to go to about 9" in the 6mm, when you get to 6" 6mm you should be able to do a nail, i found b+q's 6" nails are a bit softer than focus diys ones, which is what i currently use. I can also tear Argos catalogues and cetphone books, i learnt it from this site which gives you the techniques http://www.geocities.com/ltgodfrey/home.html It often runs out of bandwidth and get suspended for an hour, but i strongly recommend you chech it out

Great post that, im off to B&Q for some rods. They'll make a nice cheap alternative training tool.

Take it easy dont over do it and end up injuring your wrists, hands or shoulders guys, treat the steel with respect

Not working mate. Not for me at least. Start with the 6mm and a longer length, otherwise you get used to bending 5mm and then the jump to 6mm feels like you just started all over again. Try 10"x6mm or something. Work down from there, by the time you get to a 7"x6mm rod, a 6"x6mm nail will be a piece of piss.

Good start. But seriously, get some 6mm and use longer lengths. You'll thank me when your bending a 6" nail in 3 months not 10 :)

I think they were less than £1.50 each, you only need one each so its a very cheap grip tool. And when were advanced we can bend nails and stuff as a party trick! lol

Lol I put £150 each i mean £1.50 lol!!!! :021:

Nice bends bunny killa! Just to be a show off check my do it all nail bend (the harder nail, took 18seconds without a warm up, my shoulders clicked a bit then it bent. I should of really closed it a bit further but that would of taken me over 20 secs, i have done one in 9 secs before using a shammy leather to protect hands, What everyone elses best time? I know Rob and Vegan can do this

Robert

Thats a good bend, with a shammy it still takes me 20-30seconds to close it :(

Never timed myself officially, but I would imagine it's around the 20 sec mark. The biggest problem (or time waster for me) was changing the hold on the cloths (tea towels) when finishing the bend off with a chest crush.

yeah if you could do it one without adjusting i could fly it
