View Full Version : Exercise for the missus?
Right guys,
GF is wanting to get into the fitness malarky, but hates gyms etc to be honest, she does little to no formal exercise at the moment other than walks (when I convince her) and the odd Spin / Zumba class with mates.
I was considering buying her something like P90x (DVD based exercise programme) and I have a set of ladies KB's on the way 4kg, 8kg, 12kg so she could do workouts at home, either via the P90x stuff or as directed by me.
Am I better encouraging her in this way, which is a little less formal and as time allows, or getting her ass down the gym?

In my experience, highly unlikely she'll stick to anything at home

Aled, you KNOW what you need to get her doing.........
1. Crossfit
2. Paleo
3. massive amounts of PED

Agreed.
How about yoga or pilates or even MA? Getting in to kick boxing has worked wonders for Z (and her ass.)

Ha! :veg:
Crossfit does seem to do wonders for the female physique, although I'm not sure I could convince her to give up chocolate, or get on the d-bol. (Not that I'd want to anyway!)

That's an idea - sell it as the "self defence" route...

BJJ?
(Not that I'd want to anyway!)That's patently untrue!
And yep, some form of MA FTW.

BOXERCISE
SANDBAG STUFF
Classes are good as Mrs A gets to meet other people &
gets to see she`s improving which should drive her
motivation.
But if she wants to train at home then sandbag stuff is
good & when she gets fed up with it its only cost u £10.
Good luck mate :038:

Yeah that's a point actually - any developments on this front?

I love this crossfit = great girls
Personally see it as attracting fit determined lasses in the first place.
Still it's no bad thing, i.e. circuit training. Calling circuits by silly names is though
eg
Squat, bench then deadlift with 30 mins rest.
I shall name it 'Shirlerys Arse Bandit'.
Some douche in a vest will then be saying "hey I totaled 300kg on SHA in 2hrs, sweet, dude, where's my lip gloss"
Back on topic; squating deadlifting and oly moves are gona make a pretty nice body on a girl. Just make sure not to starve her that much, girls need an occasional pie and carbs!

Couldn't agree more. Try telling that to my beloved though! She drives me up the wall with her no-carb nonsense, especially given that she does kick boxing 4 times a week. :011:
I have given up trying to argue her out of it, there's not much one can say in response to 'I don't care if it's wrong, I'm still doing it.'
Bah!
Crossfit, it makes its men weak and its wimmin hawt!!
Theres no way crossfit makes its men weak !
I`ve read their advert so they cant be lieing lol.:035:
