Good going, it's always good to get a new PR, I rekon you've definately got 2 plates there if you managed 3 reps @ 90kgs. However, for some reason I thought that you were lifting far more than that as you appear to be pretty knowledgable and offer plenty of advice to others.

How much someone lifts has little correlation with the value of the advice someone can give. Of course you will get some less experienced guys give shocking advice but then you get the same from the older guys too.

Personally I'm not training at all at the moment, when I was I wasnt particularly strong but I know I give good advice.

PK+BD are spot on.

The reason I am semi-knowlageable is because I am perepared to listen to everyone and providing they can back up what they say, I belive them. I have been fortunate enough to have spent hours listening to VERY clever guys talk about weights and the body for about 2 years.

My bench is crap because I was a silly twat and didn't bench at all unitl about 4 months ago, maybe even 3.

I have goals and I will crush them. I want to do a comp maybe in the next 3-6 months.

Lastly, I do not think a 90/145/200 [kg] is anything bad for a beginner. RAW.

the toal for a raw lift is not bad at all, but in 3-6 months that will be surpassed quiet a bit, dont get in the habit of bouncing the weights thou, it is a hard habit to break and one every judge looks out for.....

Hey guys, I wasn't taking the piss, everyone needs to start somewhere. I was simply stating that Robert has made many posts here where he has given out advice and I simply thought that he was far more experienced than he actually is - that's all.

K, cool.

P.S> This morning I squatted 150kg RAW, as per my usual, no belt, nothing.

There's nothing wrong with wearing a belt when you go heavy. I never use them when I'm repping but if I switch to 5x5 or go for even lower reps, I usually wear one. Treat it as an extra bit of insurance as your core isn't used to the force generated by a 1 RM squat.

My 1 RM in the squat used to be 340kgs (un-suited) before my accident and there's no way I would have attempted that without a belt or knee wraps.

750lb squat with no suit is VERY impressive. Did you PL before you crossed to strongman?

EDIT: To answer your question, I don't use a belt 'cos my lifts are shit and I therefore don't need one. I may get one soonish though, after I have squatted 160kg+.

No, never did powerlifting but was always a big fan of the "big 3" (along with overhead press) for building a solid base.

When do you think a god time to introduce knee wraps to trainnig would be? At what level?

Thanks. I try to pause my benches. But my squats are very dive bomb-esque.

I don't think there's an exact point in your training when you should decide whether to use wraps or not.

For me, each time I made a significant increase in the amount of weight that I was squatting then I'd use the wraps for a couple of sessions to allow the ligaments etc to get used to the added weight. My training partners always said that I was over cautious but then I didn't suffer nowhere near as many injuries as they did.
