Do people do these with elbows tucked or flared? Tucked seems to hit delts more than tris; flared hammers tris but I don't know if that causes the same shoulder probs as regular flared benchingz?

I tuck my elbows and it nails my triceps. I think some of the DC guys do it with flared elbows. I think best idea is to find what works best for you

I'll try the flared approach with my shoulders back; seems to be the most natural for me.

Elbows tucked. Flairing your elbows is gay, and exposes your shoulders to all sorts of injury risks.

Lol why is it gay!?

I always tuck and still seems to hit the triceps hard

maybe your shoulders are overtrained with all the stuff you do

Can't see how they are - they don't do anything. I'm all bloody pec, some tris and no delts at all.

What Sloth said. Bodybuilder style bench = gay style bench.:049:

Tucked seems to nail the tri's hard here too. Since i've been doing then recently have enjoyed then way more than regular bench too.

Always tucked. It's more stable (so safer) and leads to my triceps working harder.

Pretty sure DC recommend tucked too, reason why they're against barbell benching is flared elbows to target chest = greater chance of injury.

What would be a decent weight for this so I have something to shoot at?

I think 140+ is decent for a close grip bench.

Anything less than 140 is gay, 140 is straight and 160+ is strong. (the sloth scale can be applied to all lifts)

i love you!!

yeah id think maybe up each of those by 10k maybe?

Al, go for 140. its a solid number and imo is the change from gay to bisexual.
