Body 2000 never ceases to amuse and entertain.

Conversation on Thursday:

Gym rat: What's that you're doing?
Me: Speed work.
Gym rat: Huh. You're just training to get fat!
Me: .....

And today:

Gym rat 1 (to Gym rat 2): What shall we start with today?
GR 2: Front squats.
GR 1: Ok then. Oh.. the pins are too low... hang on a sec

Now seeing as I'd just been in the rack myself and both these guys were shorter than me I thought I should hang around and see what developed.

They then proceeded to set the pins at waist height and perform what could only be described as quarter-rep front-squat grip good mornings with a wee bit of knee and hip flexion.... using the shoulder horn.

Awesome.

And seeing as I know that at least one of the gym rats involved can deadlift almost as much as Vinny (with possibly the worst technique in the world) I had to ask myself, yet again, 'What would they be like if they actually knew how to train?!'

Not really starting a thread here, just had to get that off my chest.

Though if anybody has anything to add in a similar vein, I'd be more than happy to read about it.

I regularly have the pleasure of guys grunting doing bicep curls with as much effort as I put into a 3 or 1RM deadlift. Our grunts are the same level!

Then you are clearly needing to up your percieved grunting effort
