Ok i have a friend who has visited me tonight and he has asked me if i know about the side effects of solvent abuse as he has a 13 year old nephew who he suspects may be abusing them, He has done the whole cigarretes thing already but apparently during conversations he tends to stall then sorta look blank then come back to reality, this certainly sounds like some kind of abuse to me but he isnt doped up his eyes have no real indication and we don't think he can afford a hard drug habbit so it could be the old carrier bag and gas route.

Anyone know anything about this?

Skin rashes The skin around your mouth and nose becomes irritated.
Hangover It's common to become tired and have a thick head.
Weight loss and shakes You look terrible and feel even worse.
Liver and kidney failure The toxins poison these vital organs. If they fail you'll die.
Short-term memory loss You become forgetful and can't concentrate on anything.
Mood swings You'll be smiling one minute and aggressive the next.
Depression The only way to beat the depression is to kick the habit.

Mate... it's ****ing nasty stuff. Probably the worst thing a kid could go and do really.

It basically works by cutting oxygen to the brain, which gives the high. Opposed to an active drug working itself. Obviously it's not real good for your brain. Not to mention what breathing that shit in does to your lungs etc.

Neurons/nervous system cells can NEVER be replaced/replecated once dead. Starving your brain of oxygen kills them VERY quickly. He is literally giving himself brain damage with every breath.
