View Full Version : Post Nasal Drip
How many of you have to constantly clear your throat throughout the day or frequently blow your nose?
Do anyone of you have a tongue that is coated in white spots?
I'm just curious as to how many lifters this affects. I used to have the latter back in the day.
you're off your tits mate!
you're off your tits mate!:D
Have you sorted out your leaky gut syndrome?

What you selling Mark? ;)
Actually I don't have a furry white tongue but I have had my nose run for no apparent reason. It has happened only 4/5 times ever and all within the last year with the last occurrence about 6-8 weeks ago. Why is it post nasal? Post what?
Go on then, let the beans out.

I think I went to the doctor when I was 17 to try and sort this out; I used to have to blow my nose throughout each and every day. He said there was no cure but gave me some drops to put in my nose. They were of no help.
I only managed to cure it fairly recently. Eating an anti-fungal diet and taking a potent anti fungal was the only way. It occurs when fungus (candida albicans) gets into the sinuses. The white tongue is fungus migrating to the mouth.
If you have post nasal drip you can almost guarantee you have totally destroyed your fungal immune system. Unless you follow a strict anti fungal diet everyday you will always have post nasal drip. I'm starting to think I might just let the fungus colonise and eat whatever I like.
I blow my nose constantly - so much so I had to take up using cloth hankerchiefs.
My nose runs even more so during a workout.
It might be unrelated but I'm sure it came about after I broke my nose.
Oh boy, a cloth handkerchief is proper Grandad shit dude!
Indeed! Though it's just kept in my drawer and never taken outside if that's any consolation!
It's haye fever season now! Rubbbish!!

Okay, so did you not even question that he said "there was no cure" but you happily took nasal drops...... if doctors don't have an answer they give you some shit medicine in the hope that by coincident it will alleviate some or all of your symptoms.

That is the biggest load of bollocks I have ever heard! so much so that I have logged on after months.
People generally get post nasal drip from allergies, even if they don't think they have a particular allergy. They get it from cold air, polluted air, medications, side effects from medications, some foods, loads of other things, including getting older.
Do you even know what fungal immune system is??!! We all have an immune system, we don't have specific fungal immune system, bacteria or anything else for that matter!
Everyone, everday has mucus running down the back of their throat. It serves a significant purpose. Mucus acts as a broom, cleaning out the nasal passages. It kicks out bacteria, viruses, and other infection-causing invaders and clears out other foreign particles. Mucus also helps humidify the air that travels in your body.
Anyway, I could rant on and on, Mark87 I would suggest you read up on A&P and for anyone else, avoid medications that are going to stop the drip, if you suppress what the body is meant to be doing you will only make the problem worse, especially long term. For guys who get this who train in a gym, think of the air conditioning, all the gays with their ton of deoderant on.... its probably causing you some kind of allergic reaction or sensitivity. If you train at home it could just be plain old dust!
And, as Vinny has said, its hayfever season!
If it becomes a real problem for you I would see a homeopath, who can treat you holistically and not just stop a normal function of the body :D
Kick his ****ing ass Dusty!
lmfao!! my gym often makes me ill, the amount of chalk dust in there is insane, it smells like home though :)

I think there is still an unclaimed $1m reward if you can provide irrefutable evidence that homeopathy works. Same for accupunture.

There should be a similar reward to prove conventional medicine works

I'm pretty sure of all the quakery around though acupuncture has to been shown to work in numbing pain - sure I saw a prog a while back with someone undergoing open heart surgery with only acupuncture as pain relief!

I don't think most medicines would be on the market if it weren't for large, placebo controlled, double-blind studies proving that there is a significant difference between the effect of a placebo and the real medicine.

Ammo and Phirearms.
Or anatomy and physiology.

It is impossible to 'prove' anything, if you define your criteria of acceptable proof in the right way.
I think van_halen was referring to the James Randi Educational Foundation One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge (http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html). Apparently Randi has included the ability to reliably distinguish between homeopathic dilutions and water/alcohol/glycerine among the things for which he would pay the $1,000,000.
A similar reward for the ability to reliably distinguish a conventional medical preparation from a placebo probably wouldn't be such a great idea unless you have a spare million to give away.
