Fight card:
Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn
Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones
Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva
Manny Gamburyan vs. Thiago Tavares
Jake O'Brien vs. Christian Wellisch
Matt Arroyo vs. Dan Cramer
Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono
Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida
John Howard vs. Chris Wilson
Karo Parisyan vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Thoughts/insights?
Looking forward to BJ Penis and GS-tightPants, I am swinging both ways a little here, I want tight pants to win, but then BJ Penis is just a funny guy. Tight Pants is just a little classier though.
Karate Kid vs Thiago Silva should be great. I like Silva's aggressive style, will be interesting to see if 'Wax On, Wax Off' works for Machida. I reckon a TKO by Silva or a decision by Machida :D
Karo fight should be interesting, he really needs a win, a convincing one.
On the whole looking forward to this :041:
When is this? I hope Penn / Pierre is as good as it should be.

TONIGHT1111!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!! :)
You need to crawl out from under your atlas stone dude!
This is going to be awesome, cant wait!:041:
It's difficult to pick a winner from GSP & Penn, but I'll go for BJ by submission. The fight will stay on the feet for a few minutes but GSP will eventually want to take it to the ground where penn will use his freaky flexibility and catch gsp with something.
Again, hard to pick between Machida vs Silva. I'd really like Silva to win, but it's very likely that the very cautious Machida will take this one by decision yet again.
I want to see Karo get knocked the **** out, simply because he's a cock.
Here are my picks !
Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn - GSP by TKO 4th round
Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva - Machida by (T)KO 2nd round
Manny Gamburyan vs. Thiago Tavares - Tavares by dec
Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono - Fitch by dec
Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida - Diaz by GNP stoppage 2nd
Karo Parisyan vs. Dong Hyun Kim - Kim by (T)KO 1st
I think GSP's wrestling and top control will eventually wear Penn down and the ref will have to stop it due to 20 unanswered elbows in BJ penns face. I'm not forgetting that Penn has outstanding jiu jitsu and the ability to pretty much escape any situation on the ground, however, if GSP drags this into the late rounds I think it will go his way.
Machidas' style frustrates his opponents, I personally enjoy his technical striking, other find him boring and think he runs. A wise fighter evades and land all his strikes, Machida does just that and will retire without any brain damage as a result. Silva is very agressive and I think he will fall into Machidas trap and get countered. I say the 2nd becase the 1st will be slow with Machida backing up and coming in constantly. Machida needs a title shot after winning all his fights in UFC.
Fitch v Gono, judo v's wrestling, - Fitch will grind this one out.
Karo v Kim - Karo is a tool I want him to lose... If Kim shows up with cardio for this fight it should be entertaining. I read that Karo was recently ill and nearly pulled out of his 2nd fight in a row but has come back in.
Was tempted to stay up and watch it tonight on santana but I'll catch the replay on sunday night as I have to work in the morning...

Oi you stole my GSP pick!
Oi you stole my GSP pick!
Not according to this lol http://iron-city.net/showpost.php?p=108786&postcount=2 ... OK I didn't "pick" GSP in that post but '4 rounds' and 'TKO' were mentioned :)
if GSP drags this into the late rounds I think it will go his way.
You make a good point there. If you watch the ufc primetime shows, it doesn't look like bj is putting as much work in as gsp, I mean going on holiday with his gf when he should be training, lol wtf? and only doing light cardio everytime. That said, bj still has the natural ability to win this fight, he just needs to do it in 3 rounds or less. If he doesn't then there's more chance of gsp taking this if it goes on to the later rounds.

dammit.....you smell
dammit.....you smell
This statement is quite accurate at the moment. The flu medicine I took over the last few days has given me the most foul smelling farts this side of intravenous whey ! Honestly I don't want to be around myself at the moment

it seems like bj penis is slacking but i reckon thats just hype, i mean them actually filming whilst dana is ringing and all that :019:
its just to get people to talk and pick sides etc...

Yeah, that's what I thought. It sort of reminded me of when people **** up on the ultimate fighter and Dana has to involve himself by giving them a lecture and telling them how they ****ed up and all that, lol. You'd think that BJ would take the opportunity to show everyone that he's working hard for this fight though.

GSP TKO rd. 3
Machida dec.
Manny dec.
Fitch TKO rd. 2
Diaz vs. Guida is a hard one. Diaz sub rd. 2
Kim TKO rd. 2
Anyone seen this yet ? *** spoliers below ***
The main card was pretty good, 8 out of 10 fights went to decision. The best part of the night was Machida KO'ing Thiago ! at 4min 59sec of RD 1 I guess I was nearly there with my 2nd RD prediction then :D
Bonnar V Jones was very exciting to watch, Jones has the slickest wrestling takedowns I've seen in MMA, some nice exchanges early in the fight but Jones gassed hard mid way in the 2nd, he still came through in the end though and got his deserved win.
Main event was thrilling stuff, GSP worked a solid gameplan on Penn and took it to him. Fight was called at the end of the 4th. GSP is lined up to fight Alves next, should be a good 'un.

GSP has become a monster, I thought he'd win but I didnt think he dominate BJ the way he did.
is Thiago Silva going to have much of a chance?

BJ Penis got owned! was surprised at how easily too, jump up was too much for him. Tight pants was too strong.
Machida looked great and more aggressive than normal. I liked the way he just pushed Thiago (Chiago :D just like Tito Chito) off like he was just a little bitch.
Thiago Alves should do quite well in his 'shitle tot' as he called it. He surely must be the strongest and most physically imposing opponent of GSP's so far in ze Octagon.
GSP vs Anderson Silva is looking even better as a match up - if it ever could/will happen
Didn't expect BJ to get owned like that, just goes to show how much of a monster gsp really is, because not just anyone could do that to bj.
Bj should now stay at 155 where he belongs and just smash everyone in that class.
Gsp vs alves should be good, although I can't see Alves doing much to GSP. After this fight I want to see gsp moving up to middle weight and taking on The Spider! That would be amazing.
Only two fights didn't go the distance for ufc 94, who would have ever thought that Machida would be amongst them, but even more so, who would have thought he would actually knock someone out. Machida to fight Evans next? That would be cool.
Machida should get a shot, he will probably have to fight 2 more times though before the UFC give it to him. I think he will eventualy get the belt and hold it for a long time. I'm a big fan of his style, been on his bandwagon since he ko'd Rich Franklin. It's hard to fight someone like him as there isn't anyone in MMA who has his style so who can people bring in to prepare for him ?
