Gloves=Gay?

The other day i started my new routine (posted up here a couple of weeks ago). Lovin it and its going great, i'll post dome details in journal section soon.
BUT- when doing deads (6x3) my hands turned red and sore. Then the next day they had hooooge blisters under where my regular bar-callouses are. Then they pissed yellow gooey puss. Mmmm. And they ****ing knackered.

Ive done deads for a while now and never had any probs. Ive NEVER used any kit e.g belt, straps etc. and ive always thought gloves=gay. Any tips? I think its the cross-hatched areas on the bar that done it and i could really do without spending my fridays sticking pins in my hands.

Probly they'll adapt to the new regime and i'll just get super-callouses.

I honestly think gloves are by far the gayest thing to be seen in a gym.

Even gayer than a guy with matching fluro happy pants, vest and bum bag doing inverse decline Swiss ball cable crossovers using straps. And that's pretty ****ing gay!

If you aren't using chalk already then do, and also apply handcream regulary!
