Not seen a '09 Goals thread yet, so thought Id stick one up. Whats everyones plans for 2009?

Mine are along the lines of:

-310/ 320k deadlift
-330k squat
-150k log, 160k axle
-one motion a 150k stone
-400k yoke for 30m, max 1 drop

Probably got plenty more, just cant really think what! :D

Work out what my stand up game is
To be good at flying armbars, maybe even throw them at comps
Improve top game, improve bottom game (basically be better at BJJ)

One armed chin (not sure if that's do-able in a year)

My goals aren't really to do with amount of weight lifted because it doesn't necessarily relate to my sports performance.

Fran under 8 minutes
Helen under 13 minutes
Filthy Fifty under 25 minutes
learn kipping pull-ups

A 3*BW pull and a BW+ OHP would be nice too, but I'm not going to train for them specifically.

All at or within cutting distance of the 77s, maybe a lean 80kg. I'm not anywhere near strong enough to move up to the 85s yet.

Quite ambitious, but I think if I get a good years training and get my squats up then I can do it. Probably about 15kg from what I'm capable of just now on each of the comp lifts.

I've previously been pretty ridiculous when setting medium-term goals so I've been a bit more realistic this time. Hang clean is probably the most ambitious.

Deads maybe look a little stingy at second glance but it's what I've had in my mind so I'll stick with it - if I hit it earlier then that's splendid.

My plan for 2009 is to adjust Crossfit for my goals, thats additional strength work and to scale the weights of the metcon days to ensure a good cardio beating.

After much thinking my 09 goals are: Consistency and Progression. I feel 08 was largely a wasted training year for me, I was trying to do too mnay things at once and got nowhere. Sooo....

Jan/Feb: 4-6 weeks of losing some winter chub, lifts probably won't progress much.
Feb Onwards: Put some muscle on and improve Squat.

And thats about it, in terms of weight shifted will set some goals after Jan/Feb.

Leaner : sub 10% at some point
Bigger guns : 17" is a goal

Lifts:
Bench 155kg (140k atm)
Front Squat 180kg (did 140x3 last sesh)
Deadlift 260kg (did 200x10 last sesh)

If everything goes well I think I'm on course for my OL goals, but am probably going to fall a bit short with the squats as I haven't been pushing them.

Lost interest in the oly stuff tbh so neither of them are going to happen; shoulder trouble with OH stuff has stopped me doing much of that at all so the PP is probably off the list too.

Deadlift definitely doable, bench probably doable.

Deadlift not quite there yet but moving in the right direction, injuries just about being kept at bay on the whole, comps good provided BDFPA qual's go well, BW up around 15lbs so far, static strength has seen lots of improvement, hard to say with events as I've not been able to do much but they appear to be doing ok, conditioning shot to ****.

Deadlift could happen this year and I'd like to think 250 is there now, so it all depends on what happens from now until around December time. 230 squat was a little bit ambitious for this year, 220kg might go before the year is out though. Front squat will be done this year. 110 strict press again too ambitious, but 100 will happen this year or I'll kill myself. Once the strict press goes up push press should follow, hopefully not too far off the above. Not sure about the yoke, it's not impossible. 145kg farmers are a dream at the moment, next year maybe. Not really training regular power cleans now so no way I'll do 130, d/o axle power clean is more of a priority currently. 85kg pinch is possible. Bench shouldn't be much of a problem.

hmmm can’t see a 275 dl going by end of the year. The oly squat should be ok, managed 210 in a belt few weeks back. Front Squat isn't out the realms of possibility. Bench is the furthest away... I've actually lost 10kg since then. Push Press probably not. Strict press definitely not! BW was a change of heart hoping to be 110 by xmas!
