Thoughts?

Also... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/athletics/4069815.stm ...does anyone else think that the IAAF should hire someone to give Paula Radcliffe a smack in the gob whenever she feels like piping up on the subject?

More performance enhancing drugs = more records broken = more viewers and bums on seats + more big sponsors = more money in the bank.

Its not sport or a game, it's a business.

True... Nobody wants to see lots of people running slower, throwing shorter, jumping lower or lifting less than they did last year.

The problem is the lack of honesty - The athletes are using gear, but trying to pretend they're not. The sports agencies know that steroid use is widespread and there's little they can do about it, but they're trying to pretend there are only a few people who are using. The sponsors must know that a lot of their sponsees are on gear and aren't too bothered by it, but need to pretend that they don't know and would be completely outraged if they did know.

The facade can only last for so long methinks.

you would be surprised how ignorant some high up people are about steroid abuse

i think that in 20 years time, when athletes from the 80's are chairing these things there will be more acceptance
