I'm disappearing from IC for a while, because everytime I come on here now, I feel pissed off, angry and upset about the Tiny 1976 thread! Post 14 is absolutely disgusting, it's not funny!! I have friends who are dyslexic and it its NOT funny, unless they choose it to be. It's one thing, laughing WITH THEM, it's another when you are laughing AT them!

I don't want to be associated with a forum, that takes the piss out of a persons disability. Do you not think, they have had to overcome enough problems, criticism, mockery, humiliation, bullying and emotional scarring to get where they are today?? We should of been commending him, for not allowing his disability to hinder him, and being brave enough to start a journal!

No one person is better than anyone else on this forum, we are all equal!

You'll all think I'm a Drama Queen and disregard my thoughts on this subject, but I don't care really. The only person, I care about is Tiny 1976 and hope he moves on and finds a forum, with members willing to support and encourage him!

I'm not tarring everyone with the same brush, some people were supportive and apologetic to Tiny, but the chosen few did the damage, and the Moderators and Administrator allowed it to happen which is thoughtless of them!!! Yes, I was a suppossed Moderator, but I'm not online as often as the rest of you and by the time I saw the thread the damage had been done to Tiny and he had lost his temper! Less offensive stuff gets deleted regulary.

GOODBYE!

As per usual over-reaction.

I am in no way defending some of the comments made, I too jumped the gun when I asked if he was drunk when he wrote his original post. However, when Tiny's situation became clear I had the courtesy to PM him, apologising and telling him to re-post his training - this is hardly the actions of a forum who take the piss out of someone’s disability.

I do feel however he could have made it clearer at the start that he suffered from a disability and that would have stopped any banter in its tracks, it is very difficult to read a grammatically poor post - hence why most members on here get a ribbing for it.

If he re-posts he will be well received and will be supported, I do not feel the original thread even crossed into the bullying territory you talk of. To that end I'm not gonna miss this sort of post and over-reaction associated with yourself.

seeing as though you're referring to my comment im gona say something back.
a member of my family has dyslexia, and many times it is refered to with a tongue in cheek comment, and laughed about. like so many things in this world though, if you are not "politically correct", things will be complained about.
i have nothing more to say as i was not trying to discourage him from the forum, more rather encourage him with a response of banter, much like the majority of posts on this board.

Over reaction may be ATZ. I guess that is what I do when I feel strongly about something! None of us are perfect.

I respect the fact you did apologise and did PM him.

All the best with your training

See ya

May be he misinterpreted it and so did I. May be you should of said the above in a post after he became angry.

See ya

To be honest i don't think there is any need to leave the forum but it is your choice. End of the day a lot said on this forum is banter and is all in good fun, I don't think anyone on here is out to be malicious and upset people. However if you feel this way about the board a break may do you good. I already posted what I thought about the tiny thing on his journal.

I like this board no egoistical dickheads, good bit of banter and good fun to read.

See ya later AD

Many thanks Ocaz.

In hindsight, may be I've blown it all out of proportion, but I have got some personal reasons.

Anyway, I will be back on IC, when I can DeadLift 110 kg, so I might be gone for a while....... I will be back though, even if it's just to annoy Narc and make him Yawn a bit more!

Best Wishes Ocaz

This incident has become a bit embarrassing really and to say I'm pretty pissed off that my partner now won't come on here because of whats gone on is a huge understatement.

AD is very sensitive to other peoples feelings, thats what makes her as good as she is at what she does. This whole incident has really upset her.

Lots of things have gone on and I need to look at this in an impartial way. Basically, as many people have said, taking the piss straight away out of a new member, then continuing to do so when it was established it wasnt funny is not on. I'm embarrassed that its happened on my site. I'm not getting into finger pointing, thats not what this is about.

We get loads of new accounts getting created, genuine ones, not including all the bloody spam accounts, yet none of them post and they are now less likely to I imagine.

The banter here is the reason the site is unique and that shouldnt change as thats why we're all here, but please lets all think before we post.

I think that's a rather gross generalisation to say that happened to all dyslexic people which is how your post reads. Anyway a shame you feel the need to leave.

Do agree taking the piss out of a new member isn't right, as it's difficult to tell by type when someone's having a laugh or being serious.
