View Full Version : Fiction Podcasts
Anyone here listen to any fiction podcasts? I like a couple of sci-fi ones:
The Leviathon Chronicles
Story about a civil war between two sets of immortals that live among us.
The 7th Son
7 strangers are kidnapped and turn out to be clones of one another brought together to track down their genetic donor / father / brother.
Anyone got any recommendations?
I'm downloading The Leviathon Chronicles, it sounds good (thanks!). I've never thought about this before but will def be checking more out, I'm not really into TV so this appeals to me. I'll let you know if I find any more good ones!
They're great for listening to on the train on the commute to work. I'm up to date with Leviathon so I've got to wait for a fortnight for each new episode, but I've got loads of 7th Son to catch up with, so can just listen to hours at a time. What else are you trying?
Hmmm I'd never thought of that sounds interesting, i'm a sucker for sci-fi. You guys read much?
I'm trying The Metamor City, it sounds good too. Its a good idea listening to on the train, I was also gonna give it a go listening to them when I train, not sure if it will work but I am sick of trying to find the right music so I've nothing to lose! I will listen anytime though.

Back to topic lol, Will let you know Ian. JB, I read quite alot, I also like fantasy and crime, I've read alot of JD Robb books. I'm reading Ross Kemp gangs at the mo, not my normal read but its interesting.
A fair bit; sci-fi, fantasy and crime are my favourites. You?Hmmm over the last month or two I've read...
James Cameron (not the Titanic Director)- Point of departure- Journo's memoirs best work etc- Korean war, 1st atomic bomb test among other things.
Peter Hopkirk- The Great Game- A history of the British and Russian secret service and wars by proxy in afghanistan circa 1800- seems history is repeating itself
John Le Carre- The spy who came in from the cold- as the title suggests, cold war era espionage, pretty good.
Arthur Conan Doyle- A collection of Sherlock Homes stories- real page turner
Vladimir Nabokov0 Lolita- classic, great read
Charlotte Bronte- Jane Eyre- another classic
Now reading an Aldous Huxley biography of a pious and charitable monk who was also a bastard politician in many ways responsible for the 30 years war- not sure about this yet, interesting subject matter but I think Huxley was in the middle of experimenting with all sorts of psychotropic substances so there's some proto-hippy cpd spiritual crap shoehorned in there too.

Huxley rules all, the rest of that shite is toilet roll :035:
Haha **** off, Huxley did some good stuff but he got too hippy, grey eminence is the weakest of the bunch.
Read quite a lot of Holmes, it's awesome stuff. Really didn't enjoy Jane Eyre though and I find Le Carre quite slow.
Yeh it's great, sort of the trashy tv of it's day. Good for train reading. If you like them then you'd enjoy some of Edhar Allan Poe's short stories- they're hit and miss but when he gets it right they're great, Doyle was definately a fan.
I can see how Jane Eyre might be a bit of an acquired taste, felt i should read it though. Le Carre is quite slow, not much really happens in The spy... but I kind of liked that about it in a weird way.
i wont read
Those who choose not to read are as uneducated as those who can not read.

Sorry not had chance to listen to this yet as I've been engrossed in the leviathan cronicles, but will let you know what I think soon!
Ah cool - you enjoying that? I'm up to date and they haven't released an episode in a while. Couple of silly bits recently but generally think it's pretty good. 7th Son is my favourite series atm.
