Amazon are doing a 4ft punchbag for £33 delivered. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/York-BBE-4ft-Punchbag/dp/B000N3T1GI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1219919946&sr=1-1)

Seems like a good price esp since it includes free delivery.

I'm tempted to buy one, does anyone else one regulary in their training?

Punchbags are great, I used to regularly light my garage up with electrifying jabs performing my workouts. That one seems a little light though, probably swing about a fair bit. You can always add a little sand to it for some extra weight. Mind you, I did that and ruined my shins and forearms thinking I was some kind of Muay Thai stud, which I am not.

Well that doesn't sound good.

Are punch bags detrimental to wrist health in general?

If you hit hard and don't wrap then you can expect problems. I don't hit particulary hard but I always wrapped my hands. I screwed my forearms up from putting in the elbows and getting bad contact from punching.
For fitness you would be working on speed and getting a sweat on, hitting the bag as hard as you can is asking for trouble imo.

I dunno, my right wrist already gives me a bit of grief from time to time, perhaps I should look for summit else.

I wonder where I left my skipping ropes?

you should be atleast wearing bag gloves if you are hitting a bag, lol

also if you are screwing up your elbows you aren't using them to hit properly.

I ****ed my wrists on a number of occasions by not wrapping my hands properly when I did boxing. Wrapping your hands properly is key with bag work
