Well i have not trained for about 2-3 months but my best lifts were about
210,160,250 bw 103
i suspect i may never beat these gym lifts though .

200-130-222.5 @ 80 are my best to date, depending on regulations and equipment allowed.
Can we use the Wilk's total to decide positions, so the heavy guys can't get away with just being big fat bastards and so Pinky doesn't have to be last all the time?

Hello man of steel and thanks, my lifts are not what they should be and if i was asked to try and repeat those lifts within the next few weeks i doubt i could but i think i could get close, but i am not training at all at the moment. Up until recently my training involved primarily back squats and ohp with some strongman events stuff too all with heavy weight for low reps.
I am thinking about doing something different when i get back training again.

Whoah ! I'm winning <buff> - didn't even realise I had entered !
Just a couple of things though -
My 190 bench was actually an incline - so maybe not "legal" for the comp
It pains me to get myself marked down - but I would also be happier if I could have my current totals rather that my all time PB's
So that would be
Squat 220k
Dead 240k
Bench 140k (flat) 160k (incline) depending on the rules
My reasoning for this is that I'd prefer to use weights that I can prove at the moment - Plus that way I can raise up through the ranks as I progress

I've never used a shirt or a squat suit. I don't have them. I use a belt and wrist wraps and that's it.
I want to do another comp next year, hopefully an unequipped one. My goal is to qualify for the 2006 unequipped championships. I think I've missed the qualifying events for the 2005 one. Plus that gives me some time to get stronger anyway..

I agree with the leader of the homo-jedi council (Mike). Your lifts are very good stubob. Well done from me, mate.
Also, your bench is not gay. A 300/440/440 is NOT gay at all. If anythign, your deadlift could be higher, imo.

Mainly from the chest. I think I also bring the bar down too slowly, by the time I go to push I get a couple of inches off of my chest and it doesn't go much further..
I've tried pin presses but they feel horrible on the shoulders. Come to think of it I did them from chest level and now my sticking point is slightly above that. I think I'll try them from a couple of inches off of my chest on my next Westside cycle..
Not long ago I did 180kg on a 5 board for three. Not much travel with that but it was good to get that sort of weight in my hands..

i have to use two vinyl plates weighing 11.3kg each, i also strap ankle weights onto the bar weighing 1kg each and yesterday i used duc-tape to tape weights onto other weights...
no one can say im not dedicated ;)

...so you can see not very powerlifting based at all.
*I deadlift rarely now. Kinda strange, but my DL strength goes up anyway if im working the squat hard. Theres a great deal more carryover from the squat to the DL than vice-versa.
Normally i would never train arms separately but i thought id give it a shot. The CG benching has helped a lot in the bench.
Despite being a bodybuilding kinda routine, the way i look at it, as long as you include the bench, squat and DL in a routine and preferentially do them first, you will get stronger provided your increasing the weight regularly and eating like a horse. Nothing fancy about that.

i got a raw 220kg dedadlift (after DLing 240 suited)
so my raw total is 555kg
suited total is 642.5kg

these are old figures. cant bench the same now due to neglecting bench and a lower bodyweight.
Squat - 155kg (5X5 parallel - not powerlifter style)
Deadlift - 162.5kg
Bench - 120kg
Total = 437.5kg @ 92kg (14.5stones)
bodyweight now = 82.5kg (13stones)

At last I am scoring higher than the Mighty Big Al !! ( I am sure the wilkes formula will take care of that though :022: )

I got a 134kg raw bench at the end of training today. You may want to weight before updating it as I hope that will fall pretty soon.

Nothing special. There must be hundreds of training protocols that would give you a hooooge bench. The most important ingredients are probably hard work and persistence...

i've been looking through some old training diaries and it appears my squat is not as pooh as I remember, I doubled 160 apparently when I was 22!
I thought 120 didnt sound right
Then again I dont know about the depth.

I'm too lazy with the journal.... but last session I got 70kg 5x5 and this one I did 76kg 5,2,4,2,1 (after getting 90kg 1rm).
BTW you've messed up with SquatBenchDead.... either you have got one of his lifts wrong or his total.

I'll enter my new raw lifts in about 10-12weeks(that's when my training cycle will be over). It will only be for squat and deadlift as I have an injury where I need to rehab for my benchpress. I'll put down my military press instead.

I have been powerlifting seriously for coming up to two years.
I used to alternate between heavy and light weights each week for years, but I was also competing at boxing. I hung my gloves up and concentrated on powerlifting.
I am in seek of the 300kg squat. I am going to start using equipment, I think 300kg with a squat suit is more likely than 300kg raw.

As the 235kg squat was so easy in the comp yesterday, I tried a 240kg tonight and managed it easy enough. I'm going to rest and go for a 245kg in a week or two.
My new totals are now:
Squat:240kg
Deadlift: 250kg
Bench: 145kg
All except the 240kg squat was under competition conditions.
EDIT: my bodyweight yesterday was 81kg.
Squat is up 5kg, and I tripled it. Got to be patient and wait before I max on it but I can't wait! New lifts:
Squat 135
Bench 125
Dead 175
Weight 113 (down 1kg - man am I good at cutting or what)

important update for me:
squat now 182.5kg which means 401lbs and 502.5kg total!
I weighed myself today as well for the first time in two months and i'm up to 103kg. Need to stop eating too many nuts and seeds :D

Yes these are all one rep lifts, BUT are done to powerlifting rules ie, squat past thigh parallel to ground (or hip joint lower than knee), bench has to touch chest, feet flat on floor and hips shoulders and head on the bench at all times. Dead lift must be one compete movement upwards with no resting of the bar on the thighs. (basicly)
a raw lift only allows a belt and wrist wraps. No squat suit\bench shirt\power briefs (yes they exist) or any other form of supportive apparatus such as knee wraps.
Oh and all lifts are done with free weights not machine. Unfortunately your hack squat wont count, but is still a respectable weight in answer to your question as is bench (if free weight). Try free wight squat, youll get more benefit.

dont know the exact maths but its a way to measure performance using bodyweight and max lift. Its used to make it an even playingfield if say you have a best overal lifter at a meet. The higher the result the better.

where abouts is the pain, I had pain in my shoulder, well between my shoulder and kneck when i bench and dip. I tried incline benching for a while which didn't seem to aggrevate it at all, its now getting alot better so should be back to training normally soon. :017:
very hard to specify mate, its kind of underneath the anterior delt on the front/top. My g/f's a physio which is helpful, suggestions have included capsule damage and plain old impingement and imbalance.

The 240kg that I did previous was in an unequipped comp back in feb.
I Get about 30kg from the 2ply Inzer power pants. 10kg from using a monolift. Not sure how much the 2.5M knee wraps give me. The rest is increase in raw strength.

LOL... I sure am a gear whore, but will probably compete unequipped in February at WSA/BAWLA comp, as I won the British, I don't need to qualify for it next year.
I did totally raw squat and deads last sunday with Chris and Toddie. It was my first session back in the gym for nearly three weeks. I squatted 220kg for sets of 2 with no belt, briefs, wraps nothing, totally commando baby!! Deadlifted 240kg with no belt, the same.... It was a hard session back.
From using the briefs constantly for the last 3 months, I noticed the squatting really hit my inner thighs when I didn't use them. I squat wide and the briefs give a lot at the bottom. Without them, it almost felt like I was pulling a muscle, from now on I will throw in a raw day for squat every 4-6 weeks.
Robert has re-entered the meet in sixteenth place. Keep toning those lower pecs...
