Right then guys and girls its about time this forum had a cardio challenge thread. I'm going to start with three challenges and will hope to add one each month to keep things fresh.

I don't care how you attempt any challenge just state how you did it for clarity (eg if a run is called for you could do it on a treadmill, track or just measure the distance from your front door using mapmyrun or some similar website).

CHALLENGE 1: RUN 400M

CHALLENGE 2: ROW 2KM

CHALLENGE 3: CROSSFIT - GRACE (http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFit_SCL1ToshDoesGrace.wmv) 135lb clean and jerk, 30 reps

CHALLENGE 4: 100 BURPEES FOR TIME

Record best time for each in thread

Chi: 1.44 on treadmill

Maler: 6.30
ATZ: 7.28
666: ?

Chi: 6.44

Cool, I'll have me some of that number 2 on Friday, though 5km is quite a widely-used yardstick for rowing so that might be more appropriate? You going to kick us off with your times then? ;)

You sure Ian? I lived with two rowers in uni and it was always 2km times that everybody raved about. Chi, update me, last 2km time: 7:28

why 135lb? why not 60kg to make it easier seeing as most of us are not using american weights...

I didn't mean the comment to sound derogatory, just after living with two rowers for 3 years with one of them capable of similar and lower times I just take it as the norm. It is in fact as Vince said an awesome time.

I might do Grace tomorrow. The slag. Really keen on having a crack at the rowing, but knee's grating a bit and I'd rather squat than row tbh!

Despite you lazy slags showing nothing more than a token effort i have added a 4th Challange. I'll add my time soon and if KMP wishes to add hers i'll edit the original post.

Once i'm 10 days or so into my transition off the V-Diet i'll probably give 100 burpess another go.

Fred
10-06-2008, 14:20

aahhh , nice one !!

I think i got 6:44 the last time i did the 100 burpee challenge ,this was with a full press up , was gonna go it tonite but got sidetracked !!

i should be good for a go at grace - but i use standard weights and its a terrible disadvantage - oly weights rule !!!
