According to the British powerlifting site, you can use an erector shirt in unequipped comps.

I had a look on the Inzer site, and they’re quite cheap.

Do you get much out of them for the squat and deadlift?

Can you put them on yourself?

The site says for first timers to get your shoulder measurement +2 (52”) or your chest +7 (51”). For others, it says just use your shoulder (50”). What size should I get do you think?

an erector shirt will keep your core tight, it does give a little, but more than anything it gives confidence...
