View Full Version : Elbow pain
I think on teh weekend while drunk I've managed to stir up a old injury. Been in abit of pain for the last few days with both elbow joints, about 5 years ago i smashed them up but theve been ok since. Tried training today as it had died down but while doing chins was in alot of pain and then couldn't lift anything or barely move the right arm afterwards. Im still in alot of pain now.
Should i just leave off it for awhile? What have i most likely done and is there anything i can do to speed up recovery? Don't really fancy going to the doctors just to be given some ibupufen.
Cheers
much like the majority of peoples knees, you probs need some warmth in the joints, get some cheapo sleeves used for sprains and wear them round your elbow, see how that works.
either that or get some proper sleeves for your elbows.
do i need wear them during the day?
no, just when your training or doing any exercise.
Anyone got any views about training when not fully recovered from a injury? My elbows don't ache as much now but still do ache. Would it be ok to just pop some ibuprefen and go train?
ibuprofin
train (lightly)
ice afterwards

depends if you dont mind your recovery potentially being set back by training on it too early or not

just do things that don't hurt and work around it. I don't think you will find any serious trainiers that are not nursing some sort of injury of some kind.
icepick, if i take ibuprofen beforehand im guessing i wont know what hurts? So should i not take any, see how it goes, anything which hurts, stop?
I got the feeling tho anything using my arms is going to hurt thats why i was going to take the ibuprofen
no don't take ibuprofen regularly man.
What's helped me:-
- Neoprene elbow sleeves during any push work and squatting
- High rep hammer curls (> 30 reps)
