Are there any other forms of treatment i should be considering other than rehab exercises and stretches that can be found on the internet and using ibuprofin gel on the area effected? Obviously if it worsens or doesnt get better soon i shall go see the doc.

I am finding that it is only slightly sore after squatting but is mostly effected after running.

A solution off the internet is always the best solution - in fact I heard that Chelsea FC have sacked their entire physio team. Mourinho is reported to have said

Why bother with professionals? We can get all the information we need off the internet! Hell, it makes about as much sense as hiring a Chek practitioner.

Interesting stuff I'm sure you'll agree.

Anyway, seriously, stop running or it'll never get better.

What are the knee sleeves doing that magically cure these knee problems then ?

From what you've put before they provide warmth but not much support to the knee. Is that all these problems are, just cold joints ?

Get to the physio. I have fast become of the opinion that if something is hurting and it doesn't go away with a bit of rest and tlc then this is by far the best and most sensible option.

tried to go rugby training on wednesday and didnt manage to get past the warm up, what was previous an almost unexistant dull ache suddendly became an acute pain. I iced it wednesday evening, been on ibuprofin since and plan to spend the next 72 hours icing as much as possible.

Obviously running and squating are out of the door for the forseable future, I'm planning on lots of stretching of the legs, upper body work, postieor chain loading and cycling.

BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

she suggested taking it easy and coming back if it got worse. As it didnt worsen i didnt go back, then this week just when i needed to see her she couldn't make it.

I took a few weeks of any leg work and only work on glutes and various stretches. I haven't had any problems since taking the break do the stretches.

been to the doctors who managed not to tell me what exactly is up with my knee, anyway i've been sent away with the least informative leaflet on knee pain ever, some super strong anti-inflamatorys and a referral to a physio

been to the physio who seemed marginally more interested in my problems than the doctor did. I had ultrasound treatment on my knee and will continue to do so once a week for the next few weeks. I'll review at the end of October and if i'm still not happy with the NHS i will put my hand in my pocket and pay for a private appointment at the local sports phsyio
