View Full Version : Does Anyone Else Hate Their Job?

I do.

I know it has nothing to do with training (unless you count training as a way to release pressure that you'd otherwise use to maim your co-workers), but I want to see if anyone else out there is miserable all day long.

Not really i sorta like my job, but i would rather be doing the things i enjoy than working to pay the bills

I have to remind myself why it is that I work at all instead of doing something I would really enjoy, like opening a gym. Alas, the bills and rent must be paid.

Do you totally hate your job then? No satisfaction or enjoyment at all?

I install mainly fire alarms (but other eletrical kit too) and work for a small company with 4 employees, im pretty much my own boss, i get my jobs and go out an do em, take breaks when i want, if im near somewhere i need to go on personaly bussiness i do, occasionally pop home if im in the area and let the dogs out, check iron city lol yknow its ok, ive been doing it for nearly 7 years now.

My brother on the other hand works in an office that is full of pollitically correct idiots, hypochondriacs (sp??) and w4nkers, he hates his job he cant stand the people, everyone is managment but there not quite sure what of, you get the idea, he actually left there this week to go somewhere else cos he had had enough.

See the difference?

Yeah, I see it. Sounds like your situation is ideal and if you like it, then you're doing great.

I work for a very big internet company in sales. I used to really love what I do, but now the people I deal with drive me insane. It's kind of like the movie Office Space. Can't wait for the day I can quit and go do something more stimulating.

Your instincts are correct: office work sucks.
Oh well, off to the gym with me .. at least that is always good and fun.

if you really hate your job that much maybe you should think about changing jobs. i know its safe and it pays the bills etc. but life is too short to spend it being miserable.

Im not working at the mo, just splashed out 1500 quid for some equipment to start my own business up. Im dead nervous but id prefer to give it a shot rather than spend another 8 years working in retail.

Perhaps you could turn a hobby into a little part time venture whilst still working, if it takes off go full time with it and drop the day job.

i've worked in scummerfields too last year. about 6 months. i only managed it as my mate was the supervisor and i was allowed my walkman.

current job is a load of shite but money is ok, too many muppets at work. messes up sleep patterns and social life etc...

Im hoping to make some money signmaking and selling t shirts online, I'd prefer to work 60hrs a week for myself than 40hrs a week for someone else, hopefully it won't come to that ofcourse.

Next step is to learn Dreamweaver and set a website up for the shirts, I want to be up and running by Jan so everything is set up and all the problems ironed out by spring next year.

heres a couple of designs im thinking of for the t shirts....

do i hate my ?
well 70+ hours one week than 60+ the week after. Normaly I work shifts 06:00-14:00,14:00-22:00 and most Saturdays. There's an saying that you know you work for the automotive induste because it's dark wane you go to work and it's dark wane you go home even in the summer. I got tolled by my GP to change my job last year because for stress and high blood presser. Part of the reason I tarin so hard isto releve the stress.
Bottom line is I like want I do, no 2 day's are the same, time go's quickly.

I hate that I have to work so much of my life while others seem to get by better doing nowt. I hate that no matter how honest and hardworking I am I will never get the respect I deserve from a boss who earns such little respect himself. I do not like nights, but...
the tea and coffee are free! oh well it pays the mortgage.

you need that kind of time off to recover from the little feckers. also will spend a good deal of that time off planning, preparing and doing paperwork.

What bits do you detest, what does being a pt involve? excuse my ignorance but aside from planning routines and getting people fit what else do you do?
