i understand why and how myofibrillar hypertrophy takes place but dont know about sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. why does the "muscle" fill with fluid/plasma/whatever. :017: i know its in response to the demands put on it but thats about it.

anybody fill me in?

to allow it to store more substrates necessary for contraction ie Ca2+
