I'm after some Olympic Dumbells. The cheapest I've found so far is £26, and that for each dumbell, anyone know where I can get some for less than this?

Cheers

Aye, I've just found him. £34.99 + £4 postage for a pair. That's fantastic that is. :)

Cheers

Nah, thought about it a couple of times but never really needed them enough. If I trained at home I'd definitely have a pair.

i personally cant see the need for them. i like to know that my plates are locked against something. even with locking collars the force of say 4x5k plates slamming agaisnt the collar when you lap them for say, tate's, if those plates slid off and landed on my face i wouldnt be too happy, i suppose my sloth look would then be completed.

i find standards alot better for training, the plates are cheaper too and as long as you get big handles get make DB's big enough for most needs.

Real men take a set of fives in the face and finish the set, and they compete.

lol

I'll be using these for Dumbell Bench mostly.

Question:

I haven't benched with Dumbells in a while and from what I can remember it used to be a struggle to get them into position. Is there a technique to it?

sit on the bench with the dbs on their ends on your thighs, obviously with oly dbs its a bit different, i would have the bars inside my legs and the plates resting on my thighs.

slowly rock back, keeping your hips locked so the dbs start to move then when you're about half way down give em a little nudge with your legs to send em back over the chest, i've used this technique with oly dbs up to 51.5kg without trouble, obviously though with all the plate contact, i'd check and double check the collars between sets.

Sorry, missed this mate.

I haven’t been using them that much recently. But when I did use them, they were very good. Definitely worth the money. If your thinking of getting some, just make sure you tighten up the collars properly before using them, as they have a tendency to loosen up.
