I'd say verticall pull. :017: There's no pushing invloved. A vertical push would be tricep dips for example?

Vertical push a la OHP or Push press. I'm thinking of the contraction of the muscle (traps) mainly involved, in a shrug theri gonna be stressed similary to a OHP, or am i being a spastic.

I would of thought pull as the weight is moving towards the area of contraction.

i wouldnt even bother to classify them in this manner, they dont really fit, like front raises, or curls

I'd put it in with the pulls 'cos you use your traps more with the pulling exercises like deadlifts, oly pulls and ghetto rows. Would only bother about it with a BB split.
