Basic issue is that I want to keep up with my 5x5 programme and tighten up my diet to shift some excess lard. I hate regular cardio but enjoy barbell complexes.
I figure the best time would be early am, pre-brecky, 3 times per week.
Opinions?
Depends on your metabolism, mine is just looking for exuses to burn some of that pesky calorie wasting muscle tissue, this would be a perfect one
I would die if I tried barbell complexes on an empty stomach. Remeber the aim of complexes is not to burn fat when you are doing them, the nature of the excercise is too intense to use fat as an energy source, it's about the after burn. So fuel yourself adeqtly to perform the complex at as high an intensity as possible.

Complexes on non-lifiting days in the evening?
Definitely preferable imo, though not too close to bedtime obviously...
