I was reading this article on elitefts the other day:
http://www.elitefts.com/documents/nutrition_and_wellbeing.htm
Quite interesting but one section of it had me slightly concerned
Clinically, type 2 diabetes is not diagnosed until levels reach or exceed 126mg/dL, but you should be very concerned with anything at or slightly above 100mg/dL regardless of what is considered “normal range.” This is a direct indicator that you are becoming increasingly insulin resistant (your receptors are failing, as we discussed above) and that it’s becoming harder and harder for your body to control your blood sugar. Blurred vision, excessive hunger, excessive thirst, excessive urination, and difficulty with would healing are all symptoms that may indicate that you are insulin resistant.
Blurred vision - occasionally, mostly after 10 pints
Excessive Hunger - all the time, even after eating
Excessice urination - yes, but i do drink lots of water
Difficulty with wound healing - not that I've noticed
Sooo, question being does anyone think its worth a quick trip to the GP to check on blood sugar levels? The first three indicators are the ones which are causing me most concern. Also the end of the article mentions metabolic typing with regard to nutrition, anyone got any decent links to more info on this?
