Been out of training a long time now I know, which is something I'm trying to remedy, but need some advice from guys on here as I know a few of you have had hernia probs.
About a month ago I woke up with what felt like a really bad groin strain, dealt with it for a while (I play football up to 3 times a week) but then the pain went to my lower abdomen/pelvic region as well.
I had a week or so of time where I did nothing and it felt better, but still when I play football, for the first little while & afterwards I get aches/pain in my groin/abdomen.
From what I've read this may be a 'sport hernia', i.e. a weakening of the lower abdomen lining but no lump (I can't feel a lump anyhow).
Does anyone know much about these? I really don;t want an op,and could do with not being out of sport/gym for months on end.
Gonna see the GP when I can but not sure if I'd be better seeing a physio. Just thinking that if it isn't actual ingural maybe I can recover by just resting and icing?
