Some dinosaurs like training with low reps. Some dinosaurs like training with higher reps eg 20 rep squats. Some dinosaurs prefer the olympic lifts, some dinosaurs train for strongman while others just want to be strong.
Although the above lifters are all different in terms of training style they all believe in one thing and one thing only: HARD WORK.
A dinosaur is someone with a burning desire to achieve unimaginable strength and is prepared to pay the price. A dinosaur doesn't need drugs. A dinosaur does need fancy supplements or the latest gym clothes/equipment, because a dinosaur realises to build maximum size and strength, none of these are necessary. How can I become a dinosaur I hear you ask? This book is a good start.
This book is basically a collection of other books rolled into one. Brooks D. Kubik (the auther) compiles different productive training elements which he has learnt from others from the iron game. This book is not written by some one who has never lifted a weight in his life. Brooks is a life time drug free lifter who holds various records and is highly respected in his field. The man knows his stuff.
The basic elements of the book are:
Abbreviated routine's
Power rack work
Grip training/thick bar training
Odd object lifting
Mental training
Are you struggling to make a routine? Do you know the best way to train with the power rack? You will be an expert after reading this.
Do you get confused when you hear people talking about grip work? Do you know how to perform grip exercises? You will when you read this. The author outlines a range of grip exercises and how and when to perform them. He also gives a brief review of each so as to help you in your purchasing decisions.
Why do I need to lift odd objects? My reason is if you dont you are gay, but Brooks goes into far more detail then I and will convince you.
Do you find it hard to motivate yourself? Brooks outlines various psychological techniques to counter this, including mental rehearsal and visualisation.
The book is very basic in looks and has no pictures which may disappoint the literally challenged amongst us. The book is structured to be a very interesting read as it gives facts/advice while also gives anecdotle evidence which amuses and keeps the book flowing.
The content is worth it's weight in gold as not only does the advice work it is explained thoroughly to achieve maximum results.
The book is 211 pages long which may seem a lot for a text only book but I found myself completing it in two sittings and have revisted various chapters many, many times and you will too.
The book is very motivational, you cannot help but be inspired. Brooks believes in what he is telling you, he believes that with dinosaur training you will improve dramatically and he believes in YOU.
