Tattoos are great. Everyone should get some ... not when you're drunk tho.

I think they look tacky. An aquantance of mine got 3 tattoo's for the sole purpose of looking hard. He got them, and he doesnt.

When getting them, you have to remember that they're there forever and hopefully you won't get anything too "stupid". Getting them to look hard isn't a good reason, IMO. Usually, the opposite effect is acheived. I was sort of kidding when I said everyone should get some .. clearly it's not for everyone.

I like em, you have to want them jjust cos you love em imo, not cos you think you will look hard or gangsta.

Agreed, I got mine because I really liked the idea(s) and have no regrets so far. I also waited awhile .. got my first when I was 23 ... 30 now.

Robert

All mine are black only. How many sessions did that take BL?

blacklab
31-10-2004, 19:10
Hmmm ... if I remember correctly, it took about 20 hours total - about 4 sessions that were loooooooooooong as hell, but well worth it to me.

None of youse got any weightlifting tattoos? A tattoo of someone squatting or deadlifting across your back or arm would be smart with a suitable slogan.

If you were drunk a good tatooist wouldn't do the tatoo.

Everybody has tatoo's these days. If you want to be different don't get a tatoo. Ozzy Osbourne said that.

i find girls with roses or dolphin tatoos especially annoying. its so meaningless.

whenever anyone asks me what their chinese character tatoos mean i just tell them 'number 14 - chicken chow mein' :036:

Ozzy Osborne is a ****ing d1ckfaced arse head. I wouldn't listen to a single word he said. Period.

I was expecting somebody to reply with this answer :018:

I agree I wouldn't take advice off Ozzy Osbourne either but the point is I agree 100% with that statement.

Look at some of the quotes on the T-Mag site. Some of them are even off cartoons but some of them I agree with 100% whatever the source.

BengDogg

Ozzy is certainly uniwue, but he seems to be a pretty decent person on the osbournes. He didnt want Kelly to have one and was very dissapointed when she did,

Robert
02-11-2004, 22:00
Okay, fine:

What I meant was this:

1. What I do with my body, and what that fat pig Kelly Oz does with hers, is my/her business, not Ozzy fcuking Osborne's. Its very selfish of him/anyone else to be dissapointed when I/she does somethign that makes me/her happy.
2. If you don't like it then fine, but if you ask anyone why they got a tatoo, 99.99999999999999999999999% will tell you it WASN'T because they wanted to look different. If they did, they are very very sad.

I rather like the idea of wearing art. Doesn't get much deeper than that for me. No spiritual or symbolic connection. It's just another art form that has always interested me.

You're welcome and I don't mind asking at all. To a lot of people the idea of putting something permanently into their skin is pretty unappealing and I can certainly understand why. For me, it was never really a consideration. It was never a questions of "should I?", it was always a question of "what will it be?". Also, my tattoos are all custom works drawn and inked by people whose skills and work I respect a great deal, so it kind of changes the way I look at the whole thing. Definitely not a spur-of-the-moment, impulse buy at that level.
Not a very comprehensive answer, but it doesn't really go much deeper than that, for me anyway.

What more can you do to express your love of a particular piece of art than have it as a part of you, permenantly.

Its a ridiculous question, its like asking a happy [but atheist] couple: "why do you want to spend X thousand £ getting married?" its not going to make them any different as peolple, but for some strnge reason, people still do it. IT MAKES THEM HAPPY.

It makes me happy is a sh1te reason. Why does it make you happy? I would love to get married by dont want a massive wedding. Spending loads of money does make you different as there must be a stimulus to want to make you want to spend a lot. Showing off maybe a reason, to invite more people... I love loads of things, training being one. I'm not about to get a PLer's ugly, chubby face onto my arse. Neither am I going to tatoo Westside barbell on my d1ck in a stylish way.

LMAO. Its a sh1te reason? Says who? You think your going to change my mind on this? I am not suggetsing you have to spend thousands on a wedding, most people do though, but that wasn't the point:

Why get married at all? BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU* HAPPY!

*Not me BTW. I don't see the point.

Read my post again. WHY DOES SOMETHING MAKE YOU HAPPY? There is a reason behind everything, whether you realise it or not so:

WHY HAS GETTING A TATOO MADE YOU HAPPY?

Training makes me happy. Why? It is an avenue in my life which I achieve in a consistant manner which is important because it makes me confident that there is something in this world that I can do better then most. I am also facinated how the body can change, gaining strength and changing shape. It also takes my mind over other sh1t in my life. Odd things have always appealed to me, I not one to follow the crowd so thats another reason for training (the way I do). The list goes on...

1.Everytime I look at them they remind me of times in my life, fortunately they are all happy times.
2. They look good. I like them, Ky likes them, my mates like them, even my dad likes the Zep one... Thats plenty for me.

Your number 2 is bollox. People like them, so what? You dont know why and they dont know why, therefore bullsh1t reason.

You're the one getting tatoo's for reasons unknown to anyone yet I'm the one making stupid/ridiculous comments? :043:

Why does it matter. And yes you are talking tosh. I like them, so i ahve them, thats the score. You like some types of music I assume, why do you like them?

You are avoiding the question again.

I will humour you:

I like music that effects me emotionally. Some music excites be while other music makes me sad. I like music to complement my mood and create an environment where I can express my emotion. When you are surrounded by these messages in the form of music they work for you, they play you and manipulate you into a certain form. People are effected by their environment, look at cavemen as an example, they adapt to there environment. When music is your environment it effects you, use it to your advantage.

You want more?

No I am not. Your being gay. You must realise by now that 1 of 2 possibilties is the situation:

1. I genuinely don't know what to say to you to satisfy your random curiosity.
2. I don't want want to tell you.

Either way, drop it.

I will humour you:
Gee thanks, oh great one.

I like music that effects me emotionally.
Why do you like that, why do you like being "played?" You can ask "why" to every answer I/you give. See where I am coming from?

Your head on a stick? :014:

Mike
02-11-2004, 23:11
Why do you like that, why do you like being "played?"

The music plays me but I choose the music to play me so I'm in control. I'll choose music which will help me in my task.

No I am not. Your being gay. You must realise by now that 1 of 2 possibilties is the situation:

If you didnt want to talk about it then why didnt you say so? I said to blacklab "if you dont mind me asking", I didnt realise you wanted a personal "if you dont....".

I am not satisfied with your reason but that doesnt matter, I wanted YOU to realise why YOU got YOUR tatoo's which is unbelievably important.

I do understand your frustration but I thought we were better then that by now.
