I am going to start shopping for a home gym which i will be buying in about a month. I am aiming to buy a rack, of course, a stack of weight, a sturdy bench and one of bengs' thick bars :041: . I already have a normal oly bar.
I also already have a barrel, some grippers and a rolling thunder.

Just looking for some suggestions of good gear and good places

Thanks

AL

very the power rack is awesome, truly great quality and will outlast me the bench is well made also however i would only have one pair of spring collars and get the 4 of the bolt on type for the dbs as springs slip and get in the way and my thick bars dont take spring collars perfectly, again i prefer the bolt on any way

The only disadvantage with ixbarbell is i collected as he is only 1/2 hour from my house, shipping may be pricey

This link doesn't quite work but click 'new search', then 'rubber matting' for rubber mats throughout the country, there must be somewhere near you..

I am using cheap rubber mats on ply board, i could do with a propper gym mat but £80 is about the going rate for a 6'*4' mat

I'm looking at buying some kit from Ivanko (http://www.ivanko.com) when I've got the money and the space to put it. It's obviously pricier than IXL and similar, but it's better quality.

NB. There's a thread with something similar on MT atm. Someone who bought the weaker barbell from IXL (I believe they make two different ones) found he bent it with a couple of hundred on the bar, so it's probably worth getting the stronger of the two.

And that was me! I want an Eleiko bar, but that's not happening for a while...

yeah the 700 lbs rating is static pressure, ive done a static hold with 210kg on mine so 230 total and its ok, cheap bar does good for what i need now, i will buy a really nice bar one day but they dont come cheap

I got mine off of ebay but it's all from body solid and I was going to get it from there anyway.

I also bought some more weight from there as well. 100kg for £99 delivered.
