Right, I've had enough of not squatting, stretching is dull as **** and I'm not doing it for the rest of my life, so it's time for oly shoes! What I've found so far:

Polish shoes from Pullum - £65 inc. delivery
Adidas Ironworks from world of sports.biz - £75 plus unknown delivery

Anyone got any bright ideas about where else I could get some? Was hoping not to be spending this much really... Saw the czech site Scourge recommended last year but sending a cheque all the way to Poland and trusting these shoes to appear doesn't sound like too splendid a plan to me.

Cheers chaps.

Even if nothing else does, sending a cheque to Poland to pay for goods from a Czech website will cause you no end of problems. :043:

As I've said before, I've never used www.powerlifting.cz myself, but it was recommended to me by somebody else who had used them and had no problems with them.

€60 is the cheapest I think you'll find any oly shoes. Pullum's Polish lifting shoes are the ones I've got and I believe they are the cheapest ones you'll find in the UK, although it pains me to recommend that anybody purchase anything from Pullum.

See what Narc has to say about the shoes he bought re: price.

Scourge accepts no liability in general for anything ever and in particular for the outcome of any transactions made to www.powerlifting.cz or any other website.

Curses. I am a cretin.

Yeah, I'm sure they're legit as it's hardly a big business to be scamming people on, but I'm just not that trusting, plus I've got no comebacks if they got lost en route or whatever. Shame they don't take cards as that's bloody cheap.

Any thoughts Timbo? How much were yours?

I'm interested in getting some Oly Shoes too, currently been using the unsavory technique of squatting on two 2.5kg plates. Tim mentioned to me in the meet his were sourced from Glen Pendlay via China or something? Worked out around £50 but took a while on delivery.

I'll wait for the man himself to post the link as I have no idea.

Found a site that did the fancy ironworks ones for £65 delivered, but they only had sizes 8.5 or 15...

He didn't get his from Glen, apparently Glen was a waste of time and didnt reply to emails, or sort out international delivery.

im quite sure he got his from glen, as i have aswell.(im sure we had a bit of a moan about him lol) they took quite a bit a come. but they are good. You can get deep easily with them, and the difference in stabilty between them and my old trainers is amazing, although my old gym trainers were a wreck!
Also ive heard on FI.com and marunde.com that the adidas shoes are impossibe to order for the average shoe sized man, so yeh it is a right pain in the jacksy getting a pair of shoes

^ Don't think so. There is the classic line in the first SS Meet vid where Tim says "No thanks to Glen Pendlay indeed" and Phil says "Tell us about the heels boys".

I did indeed get mine from Glenn, service wasn't exactly first class but i think he was having a few personal problems at the time. They cost me about £50 but bear in mind he forgot to add the international shipping charge and thus only charged me for regular shipping. IIRC the shipping cost was to be around $30, instead of the 10 odd he charged me. You can get them off his site http://store.wfwclub.com/shoes.html but it doesn't have a process for international orders. He will do them but you'll have to email him to get a price glennpendlay@yahoo.com
I would say these or the polish ones are your best bet, the addidas aren't that great, they wear out quickly, they're way too narrow for most people and the heel isn't nearly as high as the do-win, which in this case is what you're after

Narc did you find that the velcro straps are too long? I have average to large width sized feet yet to get the shoes tight the velcro strap has to be pulled right over and thus having shit load of excess at the end that makes them look even less stylish. thinking of cutting them down a bit, though not sure yet

Yeah they are a bit long, my laces long since bit the dust too. They come off if i try and run in them but otherwise i like them a bit loose
