I've just got a bike again and will be cycling a minimum of 2x30 minute cycles 5 times a week (Getting to and back from work). The route has a few long steep hills and I spend the whole journey in top gear, which gets my legs screaming with the lactic acid build up. Lungs are going too but am enjoying it.
Just to ask, those who have cycled this frequently in the past, has it had any effect (negative/positive) on your leg training?

Cheers

well yes is the simple answer negative for me there is always going to be a trade off, the more cv you do the fitter you become but i find i loose strength/plataue i am cutting and have great fitness atm but this has really destroyed my strength

Eating lots will help to compensate for the negative aspects of CV.

No one one on this forum probably does as much CV as I do (I get paid for it) but for a woman I remain extreemly muscular and strong. I eat loads, I am sure that helps.

I've been told to re-word that by PikeKing. Actually I am NOT EXTREEMLY muscular and strong! Now I've read that, it makes me sound like I'm so far up my own ass, I could meet myself half way.

What I meant, was in my job as a Free Lance Fitness Instrucotor/ Group Fitness Instructor I have to do a lot of CV training, more than I would probably choose to do if I had a sedentary job. However, Weight Training is my hobby and passion and I do get results and gains whilst continuing with all the other exercise, which in theory will hinder my progress.

Hey Robert.

You are still around too, thats cool! The first forum, I ever posted on was Muscle Talk in 2003 and I got into a heated discussion with you! It was really scarey!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts in those days, you were an opinionated git ha ha! Obviously, not like that now then?!
