as i understand - and i maybe wrong :102:
you can still make strength gains (using low reps etc...) whilst on a calorie defecit.
what sort of gains would be made using high reps - 8-10, whilst on a calorie defecit?

I think it depends on the individual.
I know when I was younger I could still gain muscle mass while on cutting phase, dont ask me how.
In general though as the gains training in the 8-10 range are going to be more structural rather than neural, gains will be limited.
If i've got this right you're asking what kind of muscle gains would somebody in calorie deficit make with those rep ranges?
Well it depends on who was doing that. Newbies or obese people can often lose fat and gain muscle at the same time.
An experienced lifter would have to have a calorie surplus at times to build muscle.
The neural gains in strength would still be there though but as Pikey points out these gains in strength are less the higher you go with the reps.
im quite a newbie still, when i was doing BB i was finding gains very hard to come by, but now im PLing im finding my strength is increasing quite fast even though im still on a calorie deficit
