which is better for fat loss: walking or H.I.I.T

currently i do, 1 session a week on the punchbag for about an hour which is sort of like H.I.I.T but with the intervals really spread out

1 session on the stepper for 45mins

and maybe if adventurous, 1 session H.I.I.T for about 15-17 mins.

obviously i'd rather do the walking instead of the H.I.I.T (am getting bored of typing this out) as its easier.

wll ideally the best 2 forms of cardio would be eating and sleeping i would be ripped to shit if they were, but sadly they arnt so i think youd better do hiit

HIIT will have health benefits beyond fat loss that walking wont.

It'll have costs that walking wont too.

I agree it's better in most cases but people need to look at the big picture.

what sort of costs are we talking about here?

he's on about (for example)

if you do HIIT sprints on concrete 2xwk for 10 years you are more likely to get ****ed knees than if u amble around.

That and CNS stress

Actually thinking about it (remembering you saying you are big (100 kilo mark?) and overweight) running is contraindicated anyway IMO, esp HIIT.

edit: just seen that.

thanks. i'll just stick to the odd H.I.I.T on a stepper if i can be bothered/am in a rush , punchbag and lots and lots of fatman walking <buff>

Have you tried 'complexes' as recommended by our very own PK and Cosgrove over on T Nation?
Kind of like HIIT but involving low weight barbell-I like em!

i had thought of them but i dont want them to interfere with my weights (maybe i'm just afraid of hard work)

I do both, boxing and 5-a-side Football for HIIT and then some walking just for extra health benefits and helping me relax
