If you've had problems and/or know the best ways to prevent them, would you give me some tips.

I avoid the 'behind the neck press' and do some rotator cuff work, laying on my side with a 2.5kg plate.

I've always done barbell o/h press bringing the bar to the front but have recently added dbell o/h press.

The dbells do seem to offer and more natural hand grip, but are these more suited to the design of the shoulder joint? Is the should joint really designed for overhead pressing?

Any tips, tricks and stuff to be wary of would be great.

Shrug dips and band pullaparts help negate all the internal rotation most exercises put the shoulder through and they helped me get rid of my shoulder probs. If internal rotation's your problem of course.

Cheers, I have a look into them,

Ideally I'm after what to do for healthy injury free shoulders, probably more importantly what exercises and styles to avoid.

I'll give google a shot and see what I can come up with.

there are no bad exercises and no good exercises, all exercises can be good or bad given certain situations.

generally good shoulder health can be determined by making sure internal rotation + protraction = external rotation + retraction.

if you know your workouts are out of balance then you will have to unbalance to the other side for a while.

Also making sure good technique is used. e.g. shoulders stay retracted for entire ROM on a pull up, no shoulder elevation on a row

Ok so in laymans terms is it basically keeping your shoulders tight during the movement and not relaxing to try to get a good stretch in the shoulder region.

no, retracted = pulled back
