Black Knight

I offer this not for sympathy (fat chance!) but as a warning to anyone who fails to 'listen' to their bodies.
I suffered this injury at the beginning of a friendly game of football. I simply set off to chase after the ball and immediately felt the muscle tear. It was extremely painful and debilitating. The area swelled up and immobilised my lower leg.
Im having physio treatment to rehab my leg but its not going to be easy and its going to take time. The whole area is badly bruised and still swollen. I cant put any weight through my toes and walk with great difficulty. (strangely I can squat as long as weight is through the heels!)
Before the game I had felt some stiffness in that area of my calve but I'd dismissed it as doms (only one leg doh!). I warmed up and thought nothing more of it
I can honestly say that this has been the most painful and frustrating injury I can remember and thats from a long list that includes a herniated disk, popped shoulder, Rib cartlidge. dislocated wrist, torn ankle ligaments (rugby injuries) plus the usual pulled hams/groin etc etc.
Be warned!!!!!!!
